Flare Jeans // Striped T-shirt {$9!} // Bracelet // Tory Burch Purse // Hermes Scarf {I love this one and this one from Ann Taylor}
Oh writers block, you are too real sometimes.
You’d think that being a part time blogger, full time social media gal that I would have figured out more productive ways to get over writers block, but for some reason it’s been getting worse over the past few months, even though summer in Chicago is buzzing with inspiration. Some things are easy to write about {anything having to do with wine, for example}, but after blogging about clothes for a few years, it’s been getting harder to feel super inspired – especially when it comes to blog posts.
Case and point: I’m talking about writer’s block right now to avoid having to make up some elaborate story about how I styled this pretty basic t-shirt-flares combo. Bad blogging award of the day award goes to me!
And if we’re really airing our grievances, I’d have to say that the worst writers blocks usually happen when it comes to writing Instagram captions and blog post titles. I literally stared at my computer screen for 10 minutes thinking about what I could title a post this about jeans…and all that came to mind was Ginuwine’s classic, “In Those Jeans”, which lead to a google search of his music video {which by the way, is not so great} which then lead to a full investigation of Ginuwine’s greatest hits….all 3 of them. And now we’re here, and I’ve fully committed to my title because 90’s classic hits never disappoint, with the exception of maybe this post 😉 Unlike writers block, I’ve been a little more inspired these past few weeks in the fashion department – most likely now that the weather is beautiful again here in Chicago. A few weeks ago I spent the weekend with my mom and her best friend cleaning out my closets and donating about 10 bags of clothes to Goodwill, which not only felt amazing, but it also made me find a few pieces in my closet I had totally forgotten about – score!One of those re-discoveries was this pretty Hermes tiled scarf handed down to me from my sweet grandmother Jessie. She had quite the fancy scarf collection, and she would always wear one with a t-shirt of even a comfy sweatshirt to feel a little more dressed up. While her scarves have sat in my closet for a few years, I’ve started wearing them more often to dress up casual outfits, and now they’ve become a few of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. I think my grandmother would be happy to know that I still wear them, and in the same way she did so many years ago. I hope you all have a wonderful day full of very little writer’s blocks and a few listens of “In Those Jeans” because you deserve it {and it’s way dirtier than you ever thought it was when you were younger!}. I’ll be hopefully feeling a little more inspired in the coming weeks and writing some truly riveting blog posts/titles/Instagram captions for your reading pleasure 😉
Such a classic outfit, can never go wrong with a striped tee and pair of jeans. Love how you dressed it up with that gorgeous scarf!
