Skincare Secrets From The French

From Brigitte Bardot to Marion Cotillard, there’s a certain je ne sais quoi about them between their effortless elegance and magically glowing skin. So of course, I did a little online research to see what these skincare secrets are that all French women magically know – because for some reason, they never seem to age {and when they do, they do it so gracefully!}.

One of the main reasons they always look so flawless is that they find the perfect skincare routine and actually stick to it. I tend to be a little more impatient when it comes to testing new skincare regimens, trying out half the tube and then eventually ditching it to try a new, shiny product that just came out.  When heard about Aixallia, a new French organic skincare and cleansing brand, I decided to take a few weeks ditching some of my other products of the month and decided to dive into trying all their products for a few weeks. If the French swear by it, it has to be good, right?Charmingly-Styled-Aixallia (2 of 8) Charmingly-Styled-Aixallia (3 of 8)Another thing that French women appreciate are products that use all natural ingredients, and Aixallia is formulated with locally harvested, organic French Mediterranean botanicals, and is ECOCERT French organic certified. Even the water they use in their products has to be fancy, and Aixallia’s is made with proprietary ultra-pure water to eliminate all impurities. I’ve been a big fan of all natural skincare products for years, but I’ve definitely been guilty of reaching for some drugstore brands from time to time when I run out of my favorite products. But after sticking to an all natural regimen for the last month and seeing how much of an improvement my skin has made, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to to those not-to-be-named brands that aren’t made with all natural ingredients. Charmingly-Styled-Aixallia (4 of 8) Charmingly-Styled-Aixallia (5 of 8) While I’m a big fan of all the products, there were a few favorites that I’ll definitely be buying over again! The olive and rose hand cream is super hydrating and smells even more delicious than you’d expect {I was skeptical about the rose and olive combination, but as usual – the French nailed it again}. I’ve been keeping it by my desk for a little moisturizing pick-me-up, and I’ve been using it so much in the last few weeks that I already need to re-stock!

I’m also a huge proponent of eye creams, and I’m pretty sure I’ve tested at least half the products out there. I love how hydrating their rose and argan revitalizing eye cream is, and how it’s formulated with rose water and apricot kernel oil to fight the effects of aging {which is something I can definitely get behind!} Charmingly-Styled-Aixallia (7 of 8)Another thing that seals the deal with me really falling in love with a brand is finding out that they give back. Since Aixallia’s always concerned with the quality of water they use with their products, they’ve teamed up with Charity: Water to make drinking water available to everyone around the world, donating 1% of their net product sales revenue to the charity.
