living in a cloud.

You may be wondering to yourself, “why is that crazy girl wearing a leather jacket in the middle of summer.” To those of you ballsy few I say, “good freaking question!” I don’t know about where you live, but the weather in Chicago has been all shades of cruddy recently in the weather arena. Working on the 39th floor of an 80 floor building usually means Instagram-worthy views of the city and a great excuse to stare our the window during long meetings, but last week we were literally living in a cloud. Needless to say, those summer clothes I’ve been dying to bust out are tragically trapped in the closet {please excuse the R. Kelly reference, sometimes a girl can’t help herself}. To “cloudify” my wardrobe I’ve been rocking some essentials I usually reserve for the fall: stockings and leather jackets.
Luckily for me, Hanes has the perfect nude bronze color that simultaneously keeps my legs a tinge bit warmer while making it appear I just got done tanning poolside. While I don’t usually consider myself a stockings girl, I have to admit, these babies made my legs look good. As far as the leather jacket situation, this pleather Forever 21 gem has been one of my favorite closet staples season after season. Who knew $20 could go so far?
ps. Special shout out to my grandmother’s vintage Gucci clutch! I’ve been passed down some pretty rockin’ pieces over the years, but this baby might just take the cake <3

So pretty! When I left for work today it was 60 degrees here in KC! That is practically unheard of for July. I'm sure it will creep back up into the 100's before I know it 😉

Beautiful clutch! I need to try some hose, too. My legs haven't gotten their subtle summer glow yet, and I could use some trickery in that department:) Love everything about this look.

That dress is so cute. And that vintage clutch it fantastic! You are lucky she kept it! It is super hot here, but it is so cold where I work that I have to layer up like crazy! I go from summer to winter to summer again all in one day.
