having a 70’s moment

5Top {I love this version!} // Jeans {similar} // Madewell Purse // Heels {similar and better for fall} // Locket Necklace

Alright, I’ll admit it: when I first heard that the 70’s were back, I was completely, totally unimpressed. All I could think about were ratchet flares with patches, lace vests and John Lennon glasses {yeah…clearly I wasn’t around in the 70’s…} But as I saw fall fashion start to take shape, I realized the 70’s were a lot more approachable than I thought. Bell bottoms we’re quite so crazy, and loose flowing tunics were the perfect solution for this weird in-between summer and fall weather we’ve been having {and in other news, WHAT GIVES?! I’m in Portugal and it’s 90’s – which is basically as hot as Chicago! WHAT?} Anyways, I was wrong – I’ll totally admit it. The 70’s are back and it’s awesome. Viva la flares and leather accents! I’ll never stray from your 70’s-tastic wonder until you’re out of style again 😉 7 6 4 But really, like all good trends the best news about it is that most of the staples already lived in my closet. My flare jeans from years ago still fit like a glove, and my friend Erin gave away this killer Akira top {that kinda looks like a high fashion knock off, don’t you think?!} before moving to Nashville a few weeks back. Paired with a Madewell tote and these cheapie Target mules I swear by, I’m ready to hit the town 70’s style. 2Please tell me you’re rocking the 70’s vibe too? We can have a flares and tunic party together – arriba!

A big thanks to Ali Stone of Those White Walls for the photos! She’s so good, you can’t even tell it was raining out – now THAT’S skill!
