Hey friends! Happy (pre) 4th of July! I’m still enjoying a few days in Santa Fe, so my lovely intern Madalyn is taking over the blog to share a few of her favorite red, white and blue inspired looks! But before that, can we talk about a) how she’s basically the cutest and b) how I’m now completely regretting not packing any 4th of July inspired pieces? #fashionbloggerfail
So in my failure, and absence – I’ll let Madalyn take it away ๐

Happy Fourth of July, lovely Charmingly Styled readers! It is crazy the fourth will be here in only a couple of days which always raises the daunting question: โWhat do I wear?โ I always struggle with finding an outfit that is patriotic and stylish yet not too over the top. I put together a little outfit guide to help spark some inspiration and creativity for your own ensembles this Fourth of July!
1. Casual Parade Spectator
There is no better way to start the day than with a parade. The energy and excitement from the crowd and participants gets you in a patriotic mood and eager for the festivities to follow. I chose a navy blue and white striped Calvin Klein maxi dress. It is comfortable yet stylish and will keep you cool. I paired it with some flat sandals, Ray Ban sunglasses and ideally a fedora (I seem to have left mine at home). The beauty and hair is kept effortless with a simple eyeliner and mascara for the eye, nude lip and a braid to keep from frizzing in the heat. The most important thing about this look is that you stay comfortable without compromising style.
2. Polished Party Goer
After the parade, there are numerous parties and barbecues to attend. This looks is polished yet simple which makes it great for mingling and enjoying sweet sips and snacks. I simply paired a navy blue Banana Republic tank top with a white pencil skirt, statement necklace and red heels. This beauty look is brought up a notch with a bold red lip and a top knot bun to add some class. Forget the barbecue, you will be the hot topic of discussion!
3. Sophisticated Event Guest
Many of us wish we had a dazzling Gatsby party like event to attend to but in reality we will probably sit outside watching fireworks. If you do have a special event to attend, such as a wedding, then take inspiration from this look. I paired a simple yet daring red dress with classic pearls and black heels and clutch for a dramatic look that is still patriotic inspired. The makeup is the same as the previous look; however, I just took my hair out of the top knot (which left a nice wave) and wore it down. This most definitely is a showstopping number.
I hope these looks sparked some patriotic creativity and inspired you to try creating a Fourth of July ensemble yourself. Flag shirts and striped shorts may be great and all but try pushing your style limits this year and own that barbecue, you fabulous fashionista!

All these looks are so fun! I'm heading back to my hometown today and I have nothing in the way of patriotic pieces. Oops. Have a great Fourth, lovely ladies!
Gorg! I especially love the first outfit! Perfect for a 4th of july cookout! P.S. that necklace is pure art – do you remember where it's from??
Lindsay, it was from the Bangles and Bags shop on State Street in Madison!
All the red white and blue outfit posts are so pretty this week! I loved the maxi that you picked!

The loaded nachos I tasted here were too good; they had on a nice lettuce on top (not iceburg) and were such a great deal overall.
This post is worthy of appreciation, looking forward to more exciting! Swarovski outlet
