Even a year and a half later, working in downtown Chicago is still a little surreal to me. Most days I wake up {snooze at least 4 times}, get ready as fast as I can {due to said snooze-a-palooza}, and make my way on the red line to the closest stop to work. And although I don’t see much of the city with my daily commute, every once in awhile I’ll take a more scenic route to and from work. On those rare days, I’m always floored by how gorgeous this city really is. I’m obsessed with the Chicago River filled with water taxi’s and boat architectural tours, the view of the lake from my office window, the busy streets full of yellow taxi’s, the iconic skyline that makes the downtown feel like a playground.
And then you walk a little outside your office, and you see views like this:
Not to shabby, right? I’m a very lucky gal!
As I’ve said before, I take the “casual” part of business causal very seriously. I can usually be spotted in a blazer, t-shirt or button down, paired with my favorite skinny jeans. With downtown Chicago in as my backdrop, I’m ready for work – or as ready for work as I can be – working in social media often packs a lot of surprises…
Special thanks to Emily {co-worker, blogger, and photographer extraordinaire} for the photos!

Your pictures of Chicago make me miss living 20 minutes away so much! I'm pretty sure you and I are kindred spirits or something because I either own similar items in my wardrobe or want everything that's in your wardrobe … our style is so similar! You look great, as always. xo
This makes me want to go back so bad! I just might be in December. ๐ Green looks good on you, girlfriend!

I LOVE Chicago! Luckily for me my bestie lives outside of Chicago! So I get to visit usually a couple of times a year! That outfit is adorable and perfect for fall! I so wish I could wear cute clothes to work, scrubs get so boring!
I moved to Chicago last August and I absolutely love this city. But, sometimes we do need to take the "scenic route" to reminder ourselves just how lucky we are to be in this amazing city! love this post and your outfit- thanks so much for sharing.
