Holla if you Lolla! And for the first time, I traveled to Lollaland on Saturday to see what all the fuss was about. Truth be told, I’ve never been to a music festival, so I was a totally unsure about what to expect. I knew they’d be crowds, booze, and kick ass music, but I don’t think I was entirely prepared for what it all entailed. After kicking off the day with a boozy brunch, my co-workers and I made the trek down to the festival grounds to get the party started. We mosied our way through the crowds {I attempted to not have a panic attack..} and checked out the 8 stages of live performances all day long. I rocked out to Kate Nash, Fitz and the Tantrums {new favorite!}, Foster the People, and caught some of Head & the Heart before my fear of being trampled to death became to great.
Overall, it was an amazing experience and I’m so thankful I was able to finally go. As someone who gets serious FOMO every time Lolla weekend comes around, I’m happy to know what I’ve been missing and experience the crazy for myself. On the other hand, as  that girl who gets anxiety over local blogging events, being around over 100,000 people give me social anxiety like woah. I literally had to resist the urge to put sunscreen on everyone who was sunburned and ask the people stumbling in the crowd if they needed a bottle of water. Ugh, I’m totally a soccer mom in the body of a 25 year old – but hey, everyone’s gotta be good at something, right? Let’s just say I see live streaming the action from the comfort of my own home next year as a very viable option {thank you Internet!}
As for what I wore, I made the last minute decision to swing by Target and see what they had festival wear they had around. I was told not to wear anything you cared about to Lolla {those mosh pits and grassy fields don’t mix well with designer denim}, so this $25 romper was the perfect {and cute!} solution. Paired with sandals that were on the fritz, I was able to rock out without worrying about what I was wearing. Obviously, destroyed shoes does not an outfit post make, so I made a few adjustments with the above. I also added my new favorite Maya Brenner necklace into the mix, because I’ve been wearing it everywhere. It’s perfect alone or layered with a few of my fave gold chainz 😉
Here’s a few snaps from my maiden Lolla voyage!
hey there, Lolla!

    I feel like Lolla might be the Country Stampede to my neck of the woods (and the country version, of course). I survived many years in that muddy field, but I just don't have it in me anymore! You looked darling and I'm so glad that cute romper wasn't a casualty!

    ooh fun!! I have a lot of friends here in Wisconsin who always make the trek down to Lolla, but I've never gone. I get a little anxious with big crowds too, and I feel like I typically go to enough outdoor summer concerts here so I never felt the need. But maybe one day, like you, I will take the plunge and see what it's all about! Great pics!
