Happy short week friends! I hope you’re all easing back into your week with the biggest cup of coffee money can buy 🙂
I don’t know about you, but that whole 3 day weekend thing was very needed. As I mentioned on Friday, B & I adventured to northern Wisconsin to spend some time with my family lakeside – and the slower lifestyle was a very welcome distraction from city living. We spent the weekend hiking, boating around the lake, canoeing, and obviously eating lots of ice cream {mint chocolate chip FTW!} And being home in Wisconsin means a few traditions that can’t be ignored -namely feasting on deep fried cheese curds and drinking lots of Spotted Cow beer. Believe me, if you’ve ever lived in Wisconsin, you’ll totally understand the obsession.
And although we really only were able to spend about 36 hours up north, the 8 hour drive back and forth was so totally worth it. I get so caught up in the day to day hustle and bustle of city life, so living the slow life for a few days helped me appreciate the little things again. Give me a fresh cup of coffee and a morning on the dock and I’m one happy camper. And if it says “Chicago” on it, then it’s really the best of both worlds 😉
