A Dressed Up Challenge for Spring

Chambray Dress {obsessed with these here, here and here} // Metallic Flats // Fringe Purse // Knotted Necklace

I never really liked wearing dresses until a few years ago, which as a fashion blogger is a little weird to say. Whenever I could, I would always pair jeans and a comfy t-shirt over ever wearing a dress, even though I’ve accumulated quite a collection over the past few years.

And for the most part that’s still the case – I always aspire to wear a cute dress to blogger events or parties, but then I usually find myself taking the easy route and grabbing for jeans and something comfy. But this summer, I’m trying to break the mold a bit and challenge myself to wear more dresses and skirts, because if you don’t wear them in the summer in the midwest, there’s really not a good time to wear them at all 😉 Since I’m starting this challenge from wearing jeans pretty much everyday, I’m trying to ease myself in with comfy dresses before really getting too dressed up. I’ve always loved chambray dresses, and I picked up this little number at Meijer a few weeks back for a steal {they have some really cute dresses for spring that I love!} I love the tulip sleeved details and the fact that it’s long enough that I can wear it to work without too much worry, and it’s easy to dress up with heels or down for the weekend with flats. I kinda, maybe, sorta look put together – and I’m still not giving up too much comfort either!  Okay, in other kinda random news – there have been a few cha-cha-changes in my neck of the woods over the last few weeks that I’m excited to share when the time is right. I’ve had a few weeks of kinda crippling anxiety about having to make some big decisions, and it’s been a lot more stressful than I anticipated {poor Tom had to deal with MANY back and forth conversations over many glasses of wine…}. Anyways, I’m excited to share my new adventure soon…so stay tuned! xx

Okay I LOVE that denim dress, but I am more excited/nervous for you to hear about your changes! I know that you will make the right decision for yourself but I also absolutely understand the crippling feeling that making huge changes can bring!

I’m the same way always gravitating toward denim and more casual looks. I need to get my dresses back on rotation (but it’s also still been chilly here). I love this chambray dress on you! the bell sleeve is great. Looking forward to news about your new adventure!

I used to be all about dresses, but now I also always reach for jeans and a tee no matter the weather or occasion. I need to break out of this rut! Can’t wait to hear about your exciting new changes!
