Making Monday a Party

I’ll be the first to admit that most Mondays are not a party, not even close.

Sunday night ends with a serious case of the Sunday scaries, and Monday mornings are followed by panic waking up at 5 AM {thinking it’s 8AM}, falling back asleep and then accidently waking up late at 8:30AM and panicking. Then there’s a whole lot of yelling, and swearing, and wondering if I actually have time to shower {which really needs to happen}, which then leads to getting ready in 15 minutes, running out the door and driving to work – even though I really should have walked to the bus like the responsible person I ought to be would have. Oh yeah, and then there’s not enough coffee in the world to get me through my Monday morning…offta.

But this Monday is going to be different – this Monday is going to be a par-tay! Or at least, I’m going to try my very hardest to make it a party!Charmingly-Styled-Party-Skirt (5 of 14) Charmingly-Styled-Party-Skirt (6 of 14) Charmingly-Styled-Party-Skirt (10 of 14)-FinalOne of the things that can make any day a party {even a Monday!} is this gorgeous PartySkirt in silky navy blue. After being a serious internet stalker of their gorgeous skirts for a few years, I definitely had a fan-girl moment when the founders reached out to have me style a PartySkirt for myself! And believe me, I had a near crisis trying to choose my favorite skirt – they’re all so pretty and perfect for summer days and holiday parties in the winter. I know I’ll be wearing this baby all year round – and I’m so excited to style it for a fancy cocktail party, to with a plain, comfy t-shirt for a more dressed up day at the office. Charmingly-Styled-Party-Skirt (4 of 14)Charmingly-Styled-Party-Skirt (8 of 14)Charmingly-Styled-Party-Skirt (7 of 14)Another thing that can make your Monday? Hilarious compliments from strangers.

While Katie and I were shooting after a summer Friday in the office, we found this cute little flower shop off Milwaukee Ave, and decided to swing by to take a few photos. unbeknownst to us, we must have been close to a high school, because suddenly a boat load of teenagers came out of nowhere and started walking towards us. Obviously taking photos in public {especially of your outfit} is completely mortifying, so I pretended to play it cool by saying “hello” to a bunch of teenagers, who I’m pretty sure thought we were crazy people.  And for some reason, they all decided to compliment me on my outfit, which was both adorable and even more mortifying. Evidently, everyone loves a good party skirt – even the teenagers who are definitely much cooler than me 😉

I’m excited to attend a few restaurant openings {yum!}, going out to eat with some girlfriends and hopefully soaking up some sun sometime in between work and play.  I hope you manage to add a little fun to your week too! xx
