I’m excited to bring a new series to Charmingly Styled – Chicago charms! Each month I’ll be introducing you a new favorite spot in the city that I’m loving {and yes, it will be hard to pick just one each month!} First up is one of my all time faves, Alapash Home & Terrariums.

If you’re looking for unique gifts or home decor, Alapash is the place to be. Nestled on Montrose Ave, the little store boasts an incredibly large inventory of items – from handmade Peruvian blankets, fresh scents, to gorgeous terrariums. The moment I walked in the store, I instantly feel in love. Every corner is an Instagram photo waiting to happen, and the place is stocked with handmade goodies from floor to ceiling. Everything in the store is made with great care & full of rustic charm. I always walk in with the intention of just browsing, but before I know it I come out with at least two bags of new pieces I’m completely smitten with 🙂

Alapash’s owner, Marco, is just as one-of-a-kind as all the gorgeous pieces he sells. Marco’s a rare soul – hilarious, gracious & one of those people you see completely living in the present moment. It takes someone with incredible patience & care to create such gorgeous terrariums, and every one in the store is carefully crafted by Marco himself. As someone who tends to destroy anything that’s green, Marco’s terrariums have actually survived our house, despite our best efforts to neglect our poor plant babies – halalujah!

In addition to terrariums, Marco partners with other local artisans to offer a wide array of products for the kitchen and home. If you’re looking for the most delicious smelling candles, all natural bath salts, or a pretty new hand painted mug to add to your collection, Alapash is about to become your new favorite store.
