CS Gift Guide: For Your Goopy Friend

Happy Friday, friends! You made it through the first week of December (honestly, it was looking a little dicey at times so I’m pretty happy we all actually made it through!)

I feel like this week was jam packed busy, so I’m thrilled to be laying low this weekend back in Chicago. I’m planning to get my life in order (maybe….), buy lots of Christmas gifts so I don’t totally wait until the last minute this year, plan our Portugal trip, and get my butt back on my Peleton bike. Typical weekend activities once you’re in your 30s šŸ™‚

I’m closing out my gift guides for the year, and this year I took the approach of picking all the things I would truly want. While I used to hate to admit it, I’ve totally become the person who’s obsessed with all things self-care – whether it’s a new exfoliator, a self-help book, or basically anything Gwyneth Paltrow confirms to be life changing. I used to try to resist the urge to read every email and product suggestion Goop sent to my inbox, but my curiosity got the best of me and I’m totally hooked (with the exception of Yoni eggs…I think not….).

Anyways, for anyone who’s into self care or could use a little reminder that it’s important to take a little pause – here are a few of my favorite Goopy gifts any Goop lover (or non Goop lover) would love!

1) Obagi Vitamin C Serum: I’ve used a lot of skincare products in the past, but this Vitamin C serum from Obagi is one of my favorites. I started using it this year when it started getting cold outside, and it’s made a huge different in my skin – it’s less red, more hydrated and looks more supple (and way less dry!). I grabbed the 20% serum to maximize the impact and it’s been super nourishing on my skin. For anyone who’s a beauty/self-care junkie, this is an amazing gift!

2) Lala Retro Whipped Cream Lotion: Another beauty product I love – Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro lotion is super nourishing during the winter. I travel fairly often for work, and I slather this on after being on airplanes (hello dryness!) and use it all winter long for instantly smooth and moisturized skin.

3) 8 Greens Drink Tablets (6 pack or single pack): As someone who basically never has had their daily dose of veggies, I’ve totally fallen in love with taking 8 Greens everyday! It’s aĀ supplementĀ Ā that blends eight vitamin-rich greens into one dissolvable tablet and gives you the daily vitamins you need to stay healthy and nourished.

4) Healthier Together Cookbook: I love a good healthy cookbook, especially one that’s designed for date nights – and this one by Mind Body Green editor Liz Moody makes healthy cooking enjoyable. All the recipes are gluten-free, dairy-free and plant centered, and it’s full of homemade alternatives of your favorite recipes – likeĀ Cornflake ā€œFriedā€ Chicken, General Tsoā€™s Cauliflower, and Chocolate Tahini Brownie Bites.

5) Vinter’s Daughter Serum: The holy-freaking grail of beauty products, there’s nothing I love more than Vinter’s Daughter Serum. The founder, April, comes from a long line of wine makers, and her work in her family’s fine wine business inspired her to apply similar world-class standards to skincare. Her serum is made from the best botanicals and is full of balancing properties and nutrients to give you seriously glowing skin. Plus, it smells like a legit flower store and I’m fairly convinced there’s no better smell in the world. It’s not cheap by any means, but it’s truly my all-time favorite skincare product.

6) lululemon Yoga Bag: While I hate to admit it, new yoga clothes and accessories inspire me (guilt me?) to hit the gym or studio more often, and I love this cute, functional camo bag for yoga and beyond!

7) Ello Ceramic Mug: My friend Ashlee works at Ello and made me totally fall in love with their products – this ceramic mug being my al-time favorite. If you’re looking to reduce your single-use cups usage, then this mug is the perfect gift for yourself, or a friend!

8) lululemon Camo Leggings: Again, new workout gear incentives me to work out (oops!), and I love these lululemon wunder under leggings. They’re perfect for the gym, hanging at home, or airport travel for pleasure or work!

9) Goop Glow: Another totally Goopy product that I love – I’ve been using Goop glow for the past few weeks and have noticed a visible change in how glowy and clear my skin is! I tried to use collagen every morning for the longest time, but I hated the taste – and I love that you can mix this with water and it tastes really delicious (very orang-y in a good way!)

10) Rising Strong: My friends and family make fun of me for my love of self-care books, but I can’t help it – sometimes you just need a pick-me up! I love BrenĆ© Brown books (and literally anything she does…) and I recently added Rising Strong to my wish list. In a world where you’re constantly overworked, overwhelmed and feel like you’re failing, this book is for you. It features interviews with people who talked about being brave and experiencing failures,Ā and what makes them successful in the long run. 10/10 would recommend (even if your family makes fun of you for it…)
11) Five Minute Journal: As I’m trying to cultivate more gratitude in my life (aren’t we all?) I’ve been enjoying documenting every day in a Five Minute Journal. It helps me end (or start, depending what you have time for!) each day with gratitude and helps you focus on the positive things in your life, which will be especially helpful during 2020 election season šŸ˜‰
