Is it just me, or does Flight of the Bumblebee seem to be the appropriate musical pairing to this ensemble? Okay….maybe it’s just me – but I’m fully embracing the fact that I look a little bit like a bumblebee, and I’m OK with it 😉

There are certain color combinations in my wardrobe that I used to avoid like the plague: red and green (too christmasy), brown and black, navy and black, and yellow and black (the latter being to bumblebee-like). But lately, I’ve started to throw my old fashion rules out the window a little bit more. I used to never wear yellow either (it wasn’t my “color”), but after wearing this pretty lace dress I think I might have to change my tune. Some fashion rules are a little made up, so I’m embracing my new rule of going with the flow and getting a little out of my comfort zone – even if that does mean I look a little like a bumblebee. Hopefully a kinda-stylish, chic bumblebee at that.       In other news, it’s Monday! Is anyone else still struggling to recover from the weekend?

This weekend I tried to lay low and get some much needed R&R. I had brunch with friends on both Saturday and Sunday, met up with my friend Evalyn on Saturday night, and then spent the rest of the weekend hanging out, trying to get some work done, and tidying up my little apartment. I had a spring cleaning bug (probably because my mom is coming to visit in a few days…), so I deep cleaned most of my apartment on Saturday morning. Hopefully she thinks I’m somewhat of a responsible adult when she comes to visit next 😉  Alright, that’s enough from me – I’m keeping today’s post short and sweet so I can get prepped for the week ahead!
