Most winters are rough on my skin, but this winter has been EXTRA bad. My skin has been super itchy, windburned, full of dry patches and allergies – I won’t go into the details but it’s pretty rough over here (literally…) So I’ve been stocking up on moisturizing beauty products and bringing a few of my favorites out from retirement to try to kick my winter skin to the curb. I have yet to discover Maya’s miracle treatment yet, but a lot of these products have made a dramatic difference in my skin over the past few weeks! I can also say that a few warm days in Florida didn’t hurt either 😉
I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite products (most of them green beauty goodies!) that have been on repeat the past few days, and would love to hear what your current favorites are too!One Love Organic’s Charcoal Face Masque:
My skin tends to breakout in the winter, so this little masque is my go-to for helping to clarify my skin while getting rid of excess oils and and debris (especially important living in Chicago!) I use it at least 2-3 times a week and I’ve seen my skin clear up and feel refreshingly soft and healthy. Plus, it’s eco-certified and made from natural ingredients so I feel good about using it (and replenishing it!) regularly! Anything Tata Harper: While it’s hard for me to pick favorites, Tata Harper has definitely been one of my favorite brands recently. Tata started making beauty products out of her Vermont farm when her father was diagnosed with cancer and she started researching all the toxins in our beauty and skincare products. Her line is made with all natural ingredients from her farm, and I’ve been loving every single product I’ve tried over the last year.
A few of my favorite products:
- Beautifying Face Oil for immediate moisture and a long lasting glow (plus it smells like a bouquet of wildflowers, in the best way possible!)
- Illuminating Moisturizer (I bought the big one) for a sparkly, hydrated complexion all day long.
- Restorative Eye Cream because it’s never too early to start fighting wrinkles, especially under your eyes. I’ve seen notable results and I love the fact that it’s all natural too!
A Hydrating Mask and Sugar Scrub: Again with needing extra hydration these days, this Fresh Rose Mask has become my Sunday night ritual. It actually smells like roses (and is made with actual rose petals you can see), and instantly revitalizes and moisturizes my skin after a long week in the office and outside in the cold.
I also recently picked up this Cocovit lip scrub and it’s the best for flaky, chapped lips in the winter. Even my lips have been acting out more than usual and this has instantly made my lips so much happier. It smells amazing, and best of all it’s made in Chicago by the amazing Rikita! And Last but not Least, this Perfume: I’m not usually a perfume person (although I’d like to be!), but this Ralph Lauren Woman perfume has easily become one of my favorite scents. It has notes of pear, rhubarb and blackcurrant, mixed with orange flower, tuberose, Turkish rose, Sandalwood, Hazelnut and woods, and it’s the perfect mix of florals and earthy scents. It’s not too girly, which I love, but still has a nice delicate scent that I’ve already gotten quite a few compliments on. If you’re looking for a new everyday scent, definitely try a sample of this next time you’re on the hunt for a new perfume.
So good seeing you last night!! We really need to catch up and hang out more! Also, all these products look great!!
