I’m sharing #NESCAFE in my life as part of a NESCAFE sponsored series for Socialstars™
Do you ever feel like you don’t have enough “me” time in your day? From rushing to work, running errands, to making dinner and then going to bed, sometimes it’s hard to squeeze in some much deserved TLC for yourself. And I’m not going to lie, but the last few weeks have been BUSY, from transitioning to a new job to trying to catch up on life – giving myself a few minutes to just be, or take care of myself has really been a struggle.
One thing that I’ve been focusing on is putting myself first, or at least doing so more than I typically have in the past. I usually like to bend to people’s schedules, accommodate whenever possible, move things around to help out a friend, go above and beyond – you know, all those things that are great and important to do, but not at the expense of your own happiness and balance sometimes. So in attempting to put myself first more, I’ve been waking up a little earlier to enjoy some quality “me” time – giving myself time to reflect and relax before kicking off my day. It’s been nice to sip a cup of coffee fro my new NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® coffee maker that I wrote about a few weeks ago! As someone who’s always been a fan of coffee, I always need a big cup to start my day, and NESCAFÉ® coffee has become a regular part of my morning routine. I seem to crave it when I wake up every morning, and it’s the perfect incentive to get me out of bed in the morning – especially on those extra early days. I love that NESCAFÉ®’s coffee machine makes it easy to create your ideal cup, and their professional pressure based pod system and their Smart Pod technology transforms your usual cup of coffee to something even better.
I try to spend at least 15 minutes in my living room sipping coffee and reading a book, catching up on personal emails, or just sitting and reflecting on what I’m grateful for, which always puts me in the right mind-set to kick off my day. I’ve been rotating between NESCAFÉ® Intenso coffee as well as their café au lait, depending on my mood and how much caffeine I need to get going that morning. Some days call for a stronger cup of coffee than others 😉I’ve also come to realize that the best days tend to be the ones that start with a big cup of coffee in the morning. While I haven’t spilled the beans on my new job quite yet {promise, I will!}, it does involve at least an hour commute in the morning, which is much more than I’ve been used to. I used to roll out of bed 45 minutes before work started, hurry to get ready in 15 and then quickly take the train right to my office in downtown Chicago. Needless to say, my mornings have changed quite a bit.
You can now find me getting out of bed at 6AM, pouring myself a big cup of coffee in the morning for a 10 minute break, and then heading out the door by 6:30 to make it into work around 7:45. Who knew I would become a morning person, but here I am – trying my best to make it happen! All I can say is thank goodness for my NESCAFÉ® Gusto coffee maker – it’s officially a lifesaver. If you’re in the market for a new coffee machine, I’d definitely give the NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® coffee maker a try. Plus if you order one before 6/14, you can use code “MayaMcDonald” for 40% off your machine, which is a pretty incredible deal. xx
I love coffee! It’s amazing what taking the time to have a quiet cup by yourself in the morning does. There is something really special about it. This sounds great!

ooh! I loveee mornings! Usually I just have quiet time when I first get up, but I’m definitely thinking of incorporation some tea to wake me up at 5 when I get up. Such a coincidence that we have such similar posts on our blogs! Haha

Love this! I’m the same that I try to set aside some me time in the morning, too. It’s a good way to start the day on the right foot and feel caught up with some otherwise neglected stuff!
