While Valentine’s Day might be around the corner – Galentine’s Day has quickly become one of my favorite holidays {thank you Leslie Knope!}. What’s better than celebrating your favorite girlfriends with girly gifts, wine and chocolate? I’m sure pretty much nothing beats that 😉

In the wise words of Leslie Knope – Galentine’s Day is “Only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.” So basically, it’s Valentine’s day but even better because you get to eat waffles with your best girlfriends and all enjoy the magic of brunch and girly things together. Girls before bros, right?

This year, I’m planning to go to Milwaukee the weekend before Galentine’s Day {who can have brunch on Monday morning?} to hang out with one of my best friends from high school before she moves to Oregon – so it’s a little more bittersweet than celebrations years past. But it will be fun to spend the day with her brunching in Milwaukee, exploring the city and celebrating one of my favorite gals!
