A Hair Makeover For the Holidays

I know it’s not exactly the holidays, but I can’t help but feel like it’s already the holiday season. I should probably wait until after Thanksgiving to really get myself in holiday mode, but I can’t help but put on bow sweaters and cover everything in glitter these days and it’s kinda a problem {especially for my little condo which now has sparkles in every corner of every room!}.

While I’m not into the holidays enough to put up a christmas tree or send holiday cards {I’ve vowed that I won’t do that again until I get married, or have a small dog I can put a bow on…}, I can definitely get into holiday fashion and beauty. I think my mantras these days has been “put a bow on it”, “douse it in glitter”, or my personal favorite: “bring on the head to toe plaid!” and I’ve gone full holiday mode 24/7 in the outfit department. I’m even busting out dark red lipstick, glitter nail polish and cheery eye-shadow colors to get even more into the holiday spirit – and yes, I realize it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but can you blame a girl for getting into the holiday spirit? Let’s all listen to Christmas music on repeat and cozy up with some hot cocoa, shall we?maya08 maya09 maya19

To give myself a little holiday makeover in the hair department, I decided I needed to have my hair be a little cheery too. Usually around the holidays my hair is in “lazy ombre” mode, which means I’m at least 3 weeks overdue for highlights since I’ve been working like a crazy person up to holiday break. My hair is usually pretty life-less due to the cold around the holidays, and with the mix of needing highlights bad, it’s definitely not in good shape for Christmas photos or my mother’s sweet {but kinda sassy} reminder that I could “really use some highlights”. Luckily for me, I swung by Hair Cuttery before the holidays to get my hair in tip-top shape, and I treated myself to a partial highlight just in time for the holidays.before-afterSeriously, I clearly needed some serious hair TLC! That before and after is pretty nuts 😉maya05 maya13 maya20 maya02maya18

To give my hair a little more holiday polish, I put my newly styled hair into a quick half pony with a red velvet bow, which is about as Pinteresty as this girl can possibly get. It was actually super easy to do, and this holiday hairstyle is about to be my new go-to for the holiday season all next month. It’s always good when your hair matches you over-the-top holiday outfit, right? Thanks to Hair Cuttery, I won’t look quite so disheveled in the hair department come Christmas morning.

Please make me feel a little bit better – are you going holiday crazy too this time of year? I seriously need a 12 step program, all I want to do is buy Target’s holiday collection home decor and cozy up with hot cocoa and 25 candles in my living room. Please send help…and probably more Christmas decorations….maya16 A big thanks to Hair Cuttery for sponsoring this post! As always, all opinions are my own. Thanks for supporting the brands that make Charmingly Styled possible.
