Long hair – lots of care.

maya22Over the past 5 years, I’ve had quite the love/hate relationship when it comes to my hair. It’s always been stick straight, pretty thin, “naturally blonde” (cough cough), and has quite a mind of it’s own – for better or worse.

In the summer my hair tends to be pretty strong and don’t fall out too much, but once the weather gets colder, I usually have to try pretty hard to keep it strong, shiny and stick around. Whenever I throw on black sweaters, I find myself covered in blonde hair (whoops!), and my comb suddenly looks like someone combed a labrador rather than a 27-year old girl. So I’ve been spending the last few weeks gearing up for the fall and winter months by giving my hair some much needed TLC, using serums, oils, and every nourishing shampoo and conditioner I can get my hands on. And as I’ve been experimenting in the hair care department, I discovered that my favorite products were actually ones you can pick up at your local Wal-mart, and for a steal. pink-sweater-4I’ve always been a lover of Biotin, a B complex vitamin known to thicken and help grow hair, while also leaving your skin glowing. I’ve long been taking biotin pills, but when I saw that Suave actually had Biotin in their new Gold Collection shampoo and conditioners I knew I had to give it a try. Because more biotin can’t be a bad thing, right?

As the weather starts to get colder, my hair usually becomes more brittle, but after using their shampoo and conditioner I’ve seen my hair get stronger and shinier in the last few weeks.
Since the Suave shampoo, conditioner and treatment are infused with B7 Biotin, the vitamin helps reduces breakage by 95% for dramatically less hair fall (always an issue in the fall!) compared to other non-conditioning shampoo. As an added bonus, all Suave’s new products are proven to strengthen hair and have Pureology® Strength Cure® as a key ingredient, which makes hair 20x stronger. And the best part of all is that it works just as well as some of the pricier brands I’ve used from other retailers in the past, but Suave Gold Collection from Wal-mart comes in at just around $3-$5 per product, which makes it an affordable luxury anyone can enjoy. charmingly-styled-15-of-44 charmingly-styled-16-of-44If you’re looking to get your hair in tip-top shape for the season, make sure to visit your local Walmart to try out all of the new 2016 Suave Professionals collections: Coconut Oil Infusion, Coconut Milk Infusion and Biotin Infusion, while supplies last. It’s one of my new favorite products, and I’ll definitely be buying more biotin goodness during these colder months too!biotin-1-of-2 biotin-2-of-2This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®  & Suave Professionals  but as always, all opinions are my own.
