Margaret O’Leary Sweater (c/o) // J.Crew Pixie Pant // Silver Flats // Vera Bradley purse (c/o) // J.Crew Necklace
So….what happened to this whole fall thing, Chicago? I was over here drinking PSLs, planning trips to the apple orchard and then suddenly it became 80 and sunny again in the Windy City – how did that happen? And although I really shouldn’t complain too much, I am kinda wishing the air was a little crisper and I was snuggling in this comfy sweater right about now because fall is definitely one of the most magical seasons, especially in Chicago.
Besides enjoying all the crisp days I can, I’ve also been gravitating towards more neutral colors for my wardrobe – especially blacks and grays. Call me boring, but there’s something so easy about slipping on an all black ensemble and feeling instantly chic. And with the sun rising later and later in the day, getting out of bed and thinking about what to wear is definitely not a priority {I’d much rather hit the snooze button a few more times!}.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m all about getting out of my comfort zone every once in awhile, but a classic sweater {like this cashmere Margaret O’Leary bell sleeved number I’m currently in love with} is perfect paired with structured leggings for a little French-inspired flare. And sometimes being comfortable is exactly what you need to feel your most stylish. And since no outfit is complete without some seriously chic accessories, I scooped up this gorgeous purse from Vera Bradley – which will always be one of my favorite stores for fun statement purses. I love the classic zebra print and how it goes with just about everything all season long – plus there’s even a pretty, silk zebra animal print inside for an extra pop of color! I’ve been wearing it on repeat for date nights, client dinners, and even just running around Chicago on the weekends, and it’s perfect for anyone who’s constantly on the go like I am. I’m a big fan that this bag is big enough for my essentials {iPhone, wallet, notebook, etc.} but also surprisingly roomy (my regular iPad fits in there too when I want to do some work from coffee shops!}. Hi new purse…did we just become best friends? I think so! So, are you like me and gravitating towards neutral colors this time of year? Any trends you’ve been hopping on? I’m pretty much obsessed with all things metallic, neutral and I’ve been compulsively buying loafers like they’re going out out to style {see exhibit A below!}. I’d love to know what you’ve been loving too! xxA big thanks to my girl Aimée for snapping these photos! Make sure to check out her amazing site here <3
