Yay Polka Dot Glasses // Anthropologie Dish Towels // Oh Joy Cocktail Stirrers
Can we all get a collective, “HELL YES” for Friday ladies and gents? I don’t know about you, but I am ready to kick back this weekend and enjoy some beautiful weather, adventures around town and of course, lots of delicious cocktails. Obviously the latter is very important for a successful weekend celebration – arriba!
Even though we’re mentally transitioning into fall a little bit in the Midwest, I can’t help but keep myself in summer cocktail mode {after all, it’s my favorite kind of cocktail mode!}. I’ve been savoring the last few beautiful days of summer with some fruit forward, perfectly refreshing cocktails while the sun is still out! Ingredients (yields two cocktails):
• 2 ounces vodka {I used Crop organic}
• 1/2 cup freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
• 2 1/2 ounces of strawberry puree
• Fine sea salt for rim
• Ice
• Grapefruit slice and strawberry for garnish (optional)
Directions:
Take a slice of grapefruit to wet the rim of your glass, then dip your cocktail glass into a small plate of fine salt and fill with ice.
Next, mix the strawberry puree, grapefruit juice, and vodka in a cocktail shaker with ice until well blended, then pour into each glass with a strain and enjoy!You don’t have to take it from me, but believe me, this grapefruit strawberry salty dog recipe is pretty darn delicious. I’m planning on making it on repeat for every nice weekend we have until it’s officially fall.
Have any other favorite cocktail recipes you love? Please share – I’m always looking for a little more inspiration! xx
Ooo yum! I was just trying to decide if I wanted to make a fun cocktail when we have people over this weekend – looks like it’s going to be a yes!
