Is there anything more perfect than spending a summer afternoon kicking back with your girlfriends?! After a kinda crazy week {as it always is when starting a new job!} Megan, Katie, Sarah and I got together in Oz park to celebrate summer with an impromptu picnic. It was HOT last weekend in Chicago, so we decided to cool down with cookies, cheese and a whole lot of bubbly!
I’ve been trying to take time on the weekends to unplug and really enjoy the weather in Chicago. Summer’s definitely the most beautiful time of the year here, so any excuse to get together outside is good in my book. And living in a city, everything always feels like it’s going at super speed – between the traffic, running from one side of the city to the other, and trying to hit up as many events and parties as I can – I always need a break to take some time to stop and enjoy everything that’s going on. Picnic’s are always the perfect excuse to stop and smell the flowers {both literally and figuratively!}Everyone brought a little something to the picnic party, and I brought some of my favorite cookies as well as Noosa’s new sweet heat Pineapple Jalapeño yoghurt. I love their delicious combo of a sweet pineapple and spicy jalapeño, and it’s the perfect pick-me-up on it’s own, or in some creative dishes {I’m thinking chicken schwarma or even as a substitute for sour cream in some delicious carnita tacos!}. While I’m usually not a huge spicy fan – this yoghurt is the perfect mix of hot and cool, and I really enjoyed eating it on it’s own at the picnic! If pineapple jalapeño isn’t your cup of team, they also have a few other flavors worth trying too!Megan brought One Hope champagne, which is a company that not only makes ridiculously cute wine {hello, glitter!} but also gives back to a bunch of incredible charities. Not only was it perfect for our picnic, but we felt pretty nice giving back to charity in the process. Oh and did I mention she brought her new puppy Rosie? My heart basically melted the whole time…how adorable is she? I was dangerously close to stealing her and bringing her home! I’m already getting excited to plan our next picnic date before the summer’s officially over! It’s the perfect way to unwind after a long week, and I have to say – it turned out pretty cute too {a special thanks for Sarah for organizing, and bringing that delicious cheese plate…mmmm…..} This post is sponsored by Noosa Yoghurt. As always, all opinions are my own! Thanks for supporting brands that make Charmingly Styled possible!
