This post was sponsored by Jergens® and all my opinions are my own. Thanks for supporting the brands that keep Charmingly Styled possible! Oh boy- it’s officially spring, which means it’s time to bust out the dresses, shorts and tank tops and get your tan on, Chicagoans!
A few years ago after one of the worst winters on record, I promised myself that on the first nice, sunny day, I was going to head straight for North Avenue Beach so I could get my tan on at the same time as the rest of the city. I’m a pretty pale girl 99% of the time, and if I don’t jump on the opportunity to get a little color once it gets warmer out, I find myself glowing in most of my outfit posts {and worse, all the wedding pictures that eventually go down throughout the summer!} So this was it – my golden opportunity {pun intended} to get my tan on while the rest of the city was still just as pasty as me.
So as soon as it hit 75 degrees I headed straight for the beach with my bikini, sunblock and a good book to keep me somewhat entertained as I attempted to become a golden goddess on North Avenue Beach. I expected I would be on a beach with likeminded, pasty individuals – all working diligently to work on their summer tan early in the season…but somehow, magically – everyone at the beach was already a golden goddess and I was literally the whitest girl on the beach. And not like kinda white – like full out ghosting with a bunch of beautiful golden people who were clearly on a whole ‘nother level than me. That’s when I realized if I was going to crush it in the tanning department, I better get my tan on before the summer weather really started to hit.
Now it totally sounds like I’m a tanning fanatic, which is pretty far from the truth. Sure I fake-baked once before homecoming and totally looked like a tomato, but after that I stayed away from tanning beds and did a better job investing in sunscreens. I’ve gotten spray tans from time to time, and try to soak up a little sunshine whenever it’s convenient, but I’ve recently gotten myself on a tanning lotion kick that I just can’t shake – especially when Jergens® Natural Glow® products are just this. Now that the weather is starting to warm up, I’m jump-starting my tanning with Jergens® Natural Glow® Daily Moisturizer to transition myself into spring {so I don’t look like such a pasty gal on the Chicago beaches!} I’ve been using it for a few days and already have noticed a difference; I’m gradually getting more tanned. But I’m excited for the big reveal in a few weeks {with a very pasty before and after}! Not only does it work, I love that it also smells totally delicious so I don’t have to worry about smelling like a tanning bed, post-application – always a win-win in my book! It’s great for flawless, natural looking color and naturally infuses your skin with a blend of moisturizers, antioxidants and Vitamin E. It’s ideal both for everyday use and if you need to achieve some gradual color for a special occasion. Basically, I’ll be applying this all spring long {and definitely carrying it in my tote with me for good measure too}!
Have any secrets for transitioning yourself from pasty to golden this spring? I’d love to add a few new secrets to my beauty routine!JERGENS® Natural Glow® Products allow you to build your glow gradually or get a quick boost of color. No vacation days required.
Well, I’m sold – picking this up on my next Target trip!
Awesome! Love it! 🙂
