Do you ever have those weeks that start off totally cruddy and by the end of them you’re floating on cloud 9? Because last week was definitely one of those.

It started like most weeks – the 9-5 being more like a 9-7, coming home exhausted, trying with all my energy to really get more work done when I got home – but last week, I just couldn’t do it all. Maybe it was the fall flu I caught, but for some reason everything seemed impossible – and I was beyond exhausted.  By Thursday night I was lying on my couch, watching the 8th episode in a row of “The Good Wife” and eating a Crunch Wrap between sips of white wine. Clearly, I had officially given up and a new low was reached {I mean, we’ve all been there, right?!}Charmingly-Styled-Chicago-Blogger-20Charmingly-Styled-Chicago-Blogger-26But then something kinda magical happened – I listened to my body {okay, minus the Taco Bell} and just let myself be. Sometimes if you can’t do it – that’s actually okay, and probably your body telling you, “Hey Maya, you’ve been going a little too fast lately. Why don’t you fall asleep on the couch and actually get more than 8 hours of sleep?!” And even though I thought the world was probably going to explode – nothing went totally, completely wrong. My blog didn’t blow up, my freelance work kept on truckin’, and I actually had a pretty good week at my real job. Who knew listening to your body was so rewarding? Okay, maybe everyone knew that…but as usual, I’m kinda late to the party!Charmingly-Styled-Chicago-Blogger-23Charmingly-Styled-Chicago-Blogger-34 So, lesson learned – be a little kinder to yourself, and always listen to your body if it’s telling you to slow the F down. And once I did, I felt like I came back to life again. I was excited for the weekend, managed to get things done, spent time enjoying Lincoln Park {and this snazzy new vest!} and actually felt more like myself again. Even when you can’t take a total vacation from life, maybe just sleep it off and give yourself some much deserved TLC. Charmingly-Styled-Chicago-Blogger-22Charmingly-Styled-Chicago-Blogger-35 Charmingly-Styled-Chicago-Blogger-37 Once I felt a little more like myself, Lauren and I met for coffee – and obviously took a few photos too 😉 I snagged this vest in Lisbon a few weeks back and had been dying to wear it, even though I wasn’t totally sure how I was going to style it. But, my handy dandy white button down always seems to do the trick, and now I’m planning to repeat this outfit all fall long!Charmingly-Styled-Chicago-Blogger-40Charmingly-Styled-Chicago-Blogger-42 Charmingly-Styled-Chicago-Blogger-44In other “give yourself a little TLC” news, I’m getting together with a few of my favorite ladies this Wednesday at Kendra Scott to celebrate the launch of their winter collection! It’s a good excuse to swing by for some sweet sips and check out the gorgeous collection {and maybe gift yourself a few pieces, yeah?} Best of all 20% of the proceeds will go directly to the national Multiple Sclerosis society, which means your purchases will mean even more. I snagged this gorgeous bracelet from the fall collection {pictured above!} and I’m planning on getting a little kick start to my Christmas shopping 😉Winter15-Launch-Invite-Chicago

Stay beautiful, even though works, strikes; it is something telling you that you have all day! You are still beautiful and your outfit looks pretty. I like your Joe’s Skinny Jeans – Stunning!
