Country, bourbon and a whole lot of southern hospitality made for an amazing trip to Kentucky a few weekends back. I tagged along with my friend Evalyn to visit her hometown of Louisville and loved getting a little slice of the south, especially since it was my first time visiting. I kept telling everyone {really, anyone who would listen} that it was my first trip down south…and they all looked at me like I was bat-shit crazy. Evidently, not all northern Kentuckians think of themselves as southerners – but in my defense, they all have southern accents, so I think it counts. Either way, it was a nice trip away from the city for a bit.
My go-to outfit for the trip was lots and lots of layers. Even though it was a little warmer than Chicago, I caught Louisville on a rainy weekend {go figure, right?}. Still, it was a beautiful city – and the bourbon was good!
