Remember that time when I poured my 2013 goals to everyone over the internet?
Yep. I definitely do.
And to be honest, I didn’t think I would achieve my BIG goal of moving to Chicago with a new job in tow. It’s still completely surreal living in the city I’ve always dreamed about – but it’s been so good.
For those of you far and wide who haven’t had the pleasure of living in Chicago, I thought I’d share some of my favorite places and advnetures from this summer. If you find yourself in this sweet city, I definitely suggest hitting up some of these.
Food Favorties {or, how I gained 5 pounds this summer}
purple pig: the perfect place to grab a delicious bite after a long day of shopping on michigan ave.
xoco: rick bayless knows what’s up. this mexican restaurant is cheap, fresh and unbelievably delicious.
bongo room: it’s your favorite brunch super-sized. don’t these blueberry, banana, strawberry pancakes with marscapone cream look amazing? newsflash: they were.
glazed & infused: three words: maple bacon donut.
Spaces and Places:
wrigley field: my first official cubs game was a smashing success. the chicago hot dogs, perfect weather and killer seats didn’t hurt either.
lincoln park: my favorite neighborhood {mostly because i live there} is so gorgeous in the summer.
hotel lincoln/perrenial: the prettiest hotel and the best brunch – all within walking distance.
soldier field: home of the bears, beers, and ridiculous fans. would my dad cry that the bears were my first pro-football game? probably – but the packers are still my favorite.
Summer Favorites:
oak street beach: the city on one side, lake michigan on the other. it’s the the perfect spot for summer days.
lincoln park zoo: baby gorillas! is there anything better?
farmers market: my favorite place to go every saturday morning. the fresh produce and crepe stand is amazing.
downtown: the shooping is great, but the river on the gorgeous day outshines even the best sales.
