GUYS! July means it’s officially cocktail season! And while I’m all about summer nights drinking a few margaritas, they’re not super fab for my waistline. Thankfully, everything these days can be made skinny, so I’ve been working on my mixology skills thanks to a few tried and true recipes. And since I can’t all invite you over for a few drinks {boo!}, we can virtually cheers over a few of these recipes 🙂
Skinny Gal Moscow Mule
Ingredients:
8 oz. Diet Ginger Ale from Trader Joes
2 oz. Titos Vodka
2 lime wedges
1 sprig of mint
fresh shredded ginger
1. Add vodka, ginger and lime juice to muddle. Add in ice and ginger ale and garnish with lime and mint.
Skinny Margaritas
Via Cookie & Kate (184 calories)
Ingredients:
Kosher salt
2 oz silver tequila
1.5 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz fresh orange juice
1 tsp light agave
1 lime wedge (garnish)
1. Salt rim of your glass using lime juice and a plate full of kosher salt. Add ice cubes to the glass and set it aside.
2. Fill a small cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the tequila, freshly squeezed lime and orange juice and agave nectar – shake for 30 seconds. Strain into glass and garnish with fresh lime.
Skinny Sangria
via Linda Wagner (~100 calories)
Ingredients:
1-2 bottles of crisp white wine (1 bottle Sauvignon Blanc and 1 bottle of sparkling Vino Verde work well!)
2 ripe peaches
1 pint raspberries
2 kiwis
Sprigs of mint
Stevia
1. Add sliced fruit to wine and add several packets of stevia until desired sweetness is achieved. Let the mixture sit for a few hours in the fridge to let the flavors infuse. Drink & enjoy.
Skinny Blueberry Spritzer
via Peanut Butter and Peppers (110 Calories)
Ingredients:
1/2 blueberry juice from Trader Joe’s
2 tbsp. lime juice
1 tsp fine sugar
1/4 cup champagne
1 cup ice cubes
blueberries for garnish
1. Add blueberry juice, lime and sugar together – mix well.
2. Fill up a glass to the top with ice cubes and pour blueberry juice over the top. Add in champagne and blueberries for garnish.
Skinny Cucumber Refresher
via Wedding Chicks (86 calories)
Ingredients:
4 mint leaves
1 large basil leaf
1 lime wedge
1.5 oz Skinnygirl cucumber vodka
1/2 tsp. agave
1. Squeeze lime wedge into a rocks glass and muddle lime wedge with mint, basil and vodka. Add ice and top with soda water. Add agave and stir. Garnish with a lime wedge.
