There ain’t no party like a holiday party – especially when your ensemble involves gold, sequined pants {isn’t that the ultimate trifecta of awesome?}. I mean, I LOVE getting dolled up for holiday parties, but you have to really convince me that wearing a dress in the midwest when it’s snowy and 30 degrees is a good idea – because believe me, it’s not {and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise!}

So I’ve been trying to be a little more clever with my go-to holiday looks, especially after our first snow in Chicago last Sunday, and these sequin pants are totally where the party’s at. Not only are the comfy and feel like PJs, but I’m not completely freezing my booty off {literally and figuratively}, which is always a holiday WIN in my book.

It’s no secret that I’ve been pretty obsessed with these pants over the years {like here, here, and oh – here too}, so every time I get invited to a holiday party, I usually bust these bad boys out to celebrate. And how can you blame me really? They’re the perfect added sparkle for the season without being too tacky {not to say their not tacky a little bit, but they’re definitely not TOO tacky, right?}. Paired with a chunky, cozy sweater, a pretty jewelry and the perfect pair of flats – it’s my go-to look for the holidays. And speaking of flats, I immediately fell in love with these pretty red tassel shoes when I swung by DSW a few weeks ago. I’m a sucker when it comes to comfy shoes, and I always gravitate towards flats – no matter the season. These cheery red shoes immediately seemed like the perfect style for upcoming holiday parties – and they’re small enough to sneak into a purse so I can quickly change from my bulky Sorel’s to these pretties.

I’ve always been a fan of DSW, and it’s kinda a fun tradition to go with my mom every time I come back to Madison to visit.
