Topshop off the shoulder shirt dress // Topshop lace up heels // Topshop Clutch // J.Crew Bracelet // J.Crew Necklace
I know we’re all about PSLs and fall booties, but can we take a minute to soak up the last beautiful days of summer please? I know we all want to enjoy layers, cozy sweaters and changing leaves, but I’m not quite ready to get over summer quite yet – especially when the idea of snowmageddon is just around the corner. Seriously though, people keep telling me that it’s supposed to be one of the coldest winters yet…please send help and heaters friends!
So how do you get to enjoy the best of both worlds – aka this weird in-between weather that means it’s 80 degrees one day and 60 the other? Find the best pieces that help you transition from one season to the next! I stopped by Topshop last week for their Fleur De Force meet and greet event {real life – I almost met her, but I was waaaaay to embarrassed so I waved at her from afar, haha} and I spotted this pretty off the shoulder dress and completely fell in love. While I was hanging out with friends and sipping on cocktails, I couldn’t help but do a little shopping while I was walking around their beautiful Michigan Ave location. Baby blue is one of my favorite colors – so when I stumbled across this dress I knew it had to join my wardrobe. And since I’m still not over the summer off the shoulder trend, the fact that it’s a little longer of a dress makes it a little more perfect for fall. The real star of the show though are these funky metallic {and actually comfortable!} heels I picked up too. I wanted a cool statement piece that elevated the look, and I love that these babies lace up, Even though they’re far from fall booties, I’ll be savoring the last few days of summer by rocking these around town – either dressed up or with a pair of jeans for a night out on the town. To be fair, my boyfriend doesn’t quite love them as much as I do {and called them space shoes, rude!} but sometimes there are pieces you love so much that it doesn’t quite matter what anyone else thinks about them. Help a sister out, they’re cute right? Maybe strength in numbers will convince him that he’s wrong 😉 Oh, and this little clutch number also came home with me too. I’ve been loving clutches lately for date nights out with the guy or my girlfriends – and this one is the perfect size for toting my phone and wallet around town. I’ve been trying to narrow down my purse collection in my closet, but this one was just so perfect it had to come home with me. I’m pretty sure I can never resist a black bag with metal finishes, and the price {under $40!} was definitely right 😉
In other news, I’m SUPER excited for the weekend because this is my last work day for the week – woot woot! My mom’s coming to town tonight and we’re planning on having a little staycation in the city tomorrow and Friday – exploring downtown, going shopping {!!!} and getting a few things off my to do list done at home {you know, fun adult things like meeting a professional grouter and changing lightbulbs, haha}. Being an adult isn’t always so glamorous, but it’s kinda nice when you get a few days off and have the chance to spend time with your family. No matter how old you get, mamas will always be the best 😉 xxA special thanks to Topshop for sponsoring this post! As always, opinions are my own – thanks for supporting the brands that make Charmingly Styled possible!
