chicago gems: floriole bakery in lincoln park.

Guys, I know it’s annoying to brag about – but I absolutely adore my Chicago neighborhood – especially in the summer time. I live in Lincoln Park a hop away from the DePaul campus, which boasts some of the best shops and restaurants in the city {cough, in my not so humble opinion!} But really, it’s not just me – even Kelly is smitten with the neighborhood blocks we share, and ever time we get together we can’t help but gush over how much we love it. It’s a problem – but a good problem to have 😉
And besides loving my neighborhood, I adore the coffee shops and cute shops that line the streets, especially on Webster Ave. I remember when I first moved into my place on a very cold winter afternoon, and all I wanted more than anything in the world was a hot cup of coffee to get me into a caffeinated frenzy before unpacking. I walked to the closest shop I could find, and that’s when I first fell in love with Floriole cafe and bakery. It was like I walked into this Parisian inspired safe haven that smelled like a mixture of croissants and freshly brewed coffee (not to mention the gorgeous natural light, granite countertops and a beautiful exposed brick interior. Swoon!) I remember heaving a sigh of relief – feeling like it this place could just be a few steps away from my new apartment, everything would have to be okay (and well over a year later, I see that it was definitely a true sign!)
Anyways, it’s quickly become a spot I stop by at every afternoon during the weekend, and I especially love to indulge in their sticky buns or croissants after a long week of attempting to eat healthy {attempting being the operative word!}
What’s not to love? You’ll have to stop by this weekend and check it out for yourself {or next time you’re in Chicago!}
