R&R

Life has been a little more eventful than I planned, but it’s all part of the adventure.
Last weekend I went to Milwaukee and while walking around the city, we were hit by a drunk driver while crossing the street. I escaped with only my leg being hit and foot being run over, but I can’t help but think what could have happened if I was just a few steps further, or if he was going faster, or how things could have been so much worse.
It was honestly one of the scariest moments of my life – but I am so thankful that nothing worse happened to any of us. The whole experience has really has put a few things in perspective, so I’m resting, getting used to crutches, and taking time to be with my favorite people.
I’ll be taking a few days off to get back in the groove of things, but I’m already looking forward to being back. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Oh my gosh, Maya! I just got goosebumps- I am SO relieved that you are ok and didn't get more seriously hurt. I hope you have a quick recovery, beautiful! I am hoping that the drunk driver realizes just how lucky he is that you guys weren't badly injured… and I hope he makes some serious life changes as a result of this accident! There is never an excuse for driving while intoxicated!

Relax girl and sending lots of love and thoughts and prayers your way!

That's crazy!! I can imagine you were scared… Glad you're alright, alive and well. As for the driver… People like that should have their licenses taken away PERMANENTLY.

That is so scary! I'm glad you're all okay, but I'm sorry to hear what has happened to you. While I know it wouldn't make things better, I do hope that driver was caught.

I can't believe I missed this yesterday Maya! And to think I commented on your photo on instagram without even knowing what had happened! I'm so thankful that you're ok and managed to escape with as little damage as possible! I hope you take as much time as you need to recover and don't get back into the swing of things too soon! Sending positive thoughts your way!
