I always try to practice what I preach, but shoot – sometimes it’s hard. One day I might be all about green juice, but the next I’m white wine’s #1 fan {let’s be real, have way more wine days than juice days…I’m sure you feel me!}
But when it comes to my skincare projects, I’ve been holding myself much more accountable then years past. After attending A Night For Green Beauty a few weeks ago, I realized I seriously needed to buckle down and get my all-natural skincare routine on. If we care so much about what we put in our bodies, why doesn’t the same concern apply for what we put on our skin? While I love a good drugstore beauty buy as much as the next gal, what we put on our bodies has a direct impact on our overall skin health {and probably health in general too!}, so I vowed to start seriously incorporating more all-natural goodies into my skincare routine.
After just a few weeks my skin has never looked better {seriously though, I promise I’m not BS’ing!} My skin is better than before my awkward teenage acne years all because of a few of my new favorite beauty brands that I discovered {and re-discovered} a few weeks back. Here are a few of the new products I pinky promise swear by that will make your skin Beyoncé #flawless too. 1. Cocovit Coconut Balm: I don’t say this often, but Cocovit’s Coconut Balm is by far my new favorite skincare product {by far!} While it seems counter intuitive to slather oil on your face, the coconut oil is amazingly nourishing, and it’s actually helped get rid of my awkward adult acne. I sat down with the founder Rikita for coffee a few weeks ago and I was totally inspired by her entrepreneurial journey. Get excited to read the full feature on Wandeleur later this month!
2. Captain Blankenship Mermaid Sea Salt Spray: While I’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to my hair {let’s just say that it’s a good day if I manage to blow dry it…}, I always try to give my hair a little spritz before I walk out the door. Captain Blankenship’s sea salt spray gives you that beach day everyday look – and it smells divine! It adds texture, moisturizes, and naturally makes you smell awesome, which is a triple win in my book.
3. True Nature Botanicals Solid Perfume in Noble Floral: Not to be dramatic, but I’m pretty sure this perfume is the best smelling perfume in the whole wide world. I tried it on at A Night For Green Beauty, and I couldn’t stop smelling my wrists {obviously I looked super cool…} The best part of all is that there’s no synthetic fragrances or toxins used, so it’s perfect for someone who wants to fully go all natural. Because it’s a solid perfume, the scent subtly changes throughout the day based on wear – but it stays smelling divine for hours. If you’re looking for an all natural perfume option, I would recommend True Nature’s scents again and again!
4. One Love Organics Vitamin E Eye Balm: File under: You needs this ASAP! As someone who’s struggled with under eye circles all her life {which especially come out when she’s tired, stressed and anxious…like the last few months!}, I don’t take eye balms or lotions lightly. Elizabeth’s collaboration with OLO is one of my favorite skincare lines on the market, and her eye balm never fails to save my tired eyes every morning. If you need to give your eyes some TLC, I highly recommend this one!
5. Well People Color Balm: Because every gal needs a bright pop of color, I love Well People’s love child between a lipstick and a lip balm. When I met the Well People team, I instantly wanted to be their BFF’s {they’re just that cool}, and after trying their products I’ve never been more convinced. Give these all natural beauties a go! They’re entire makeup line is amazing.
6: Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation: While sipping on margaritas at A Night For Green Beauty, Elizabeth convinced me to get a little make-under from Svetlana, the founder of Gressa beauty. While I usually fear having anyone do my makeup, my liquid courage gave me the boost of confidence to let her make me up with her amazing corrective serum foundation. Low and behold, my make-under actually turned out to be a make-over, and it’s quickly become my favorite foundation.
I think it’s time I invested in better beauty products. Thanks for this, Maya! So informative!!
