good as gold.

Even though we’re still a few weeks off, I’m still all about celebrating the holidays early – so I’m pretending that this outfit is totally socially acceptable, even if it’s rather holiday-esque. It finally snowed in Chicago, so now it’s starting to look a lot like Christmas, rather than just feeling like it. Color me one happy camper!
In other news, I need to come clean: I haven’t bought new clothes in forever. Not for the lack of want, but finding time and the will to spend money just hasn’t been there. Overall, it’s been a good challenge though – it’s forced me to find items that I’ve buried in the bottom of my closet and figure out ways to rework them. Like this makeup bag turned clutch from Marc Jacobs for Target last year. I bought it on an impulse and never used it, until a few weeks ago. A little bit of gold sparkle seems to go a long way – and it’s the perfect piece for the holidays. Maybe not buying clothes for a long long time makes me a bad blogger {sorry?}, but hopefully I’ll survive. Plus, I’m waiting anxiously for all those after Christmas sales to buy new pieces that I’ll wear forever – like a sweet new pair of boots or a killer new purse. #holla

Um, why are you so cute?! I love the layering happening here, and of course that sparkly Marc Jacobs makeup-bag-turned-clutch. It's perfect!

Love the simplicity but chicness of this look. I'm totally unable to wear collared shirts layered under a chunky sweater – for some reason they look horrible on me. But it is adorable on you! – Katy
