First off, thank you thank you thank you for the amazing birthday wishes! I had the most amazing time celebrating with my family and friends, adventuring around the city {including this epic adventure to the Shedd!} & eating far too much – perfect birthday all around! Although I wish my birthday could come every month, my waistline is very happy it’s just an annual affair 🙂 
In other news, let’s talk winter {and the joys of having my birthday fall on the coldest month of the year, every year}. This winter has been especially brutal in the Midwest. No really, like the worst in the history of history. This Polar Vortex bull is really cramping my outfit post style, as you may have noticed from the lack of my outfit posts of late. Last weekend I decided to suck it up and brave the cold with a tunic + leggings. The result? Me being a lot grumpier than these pictures make me out to be. 
But really, it’s not fair living in the Midwest during winter. Although I’ve been good about curbing my spending as of late, I splurged on this tunic from Anthopologie {hey, it was on sale!}. The swirling freezing winds & gobs of snow weren’t on my side though, but I managed to crack a smile regardless! 
Oh! And I finally got to bust out these J.Crew lace-ups I bought ages ago. After a few trips to the cobbler to get these suckers stretched, they’re finally wearable sans socks. Eh, you win some you loose some right? At least they’re pretty 🙂
