best apps for instagram.

best-iphone-photo-apps
Ahhhh, Instagram – the app we love to love {and maybe secretly hate} all at the same time. While I love looking at everyone’s gorgeous photos, I can’t help but feel a tinge of jealously of everyone’s iPhone skills. Slowly but surely {emphasis on the slowly} I’ve discovered some amazing apps that have helped to step up my Instagram game over the past few months. And honestly, why keep them a secret? Here are a few of my faves {some of which have been team Instagram approved!}
1 // Afterlight:
I re-discovered this app through the lovely Amanda Marie Photography at Go Blog Social and I’m officially in love with this app! I use it to play with the brightness, contrast and saturation of images, and I often add little light flares to make my photos a bit more interesting.
2 // Snapseed:
This app is team Instagram approved! What I love about this app is you’re able to isolate specific parts of an image and alter the rest. Again, it’s a great app to play with saturation, add drama, and even alter the tilt shift focus of the image. I love the fact that you’re able to easily control all aspects of the image with a simple swipe left or right.
3 // Filterstorm
I primarily use this app for changing the curves of an image, meaning that I’m equally able to alter the contrast and brightness of an image at the same time {I usually do this after using other apps to make sure my photo is visually balanced.} You can also automatically alter the image, get rid of pesky red eye and so much more.
4 // VSCOcam:
Because sometimes 20 pre-set filters are just not enough. I love the incredible array of pre-set photo filters, giving my images a more aged or film-esque feel to my images. I usually use VSCOcam for my food images and some of my favorite landscape pics! If you haven’t used this app, you should definitely give it a try!
5 // moreBeaute
You know those bloggers you follow on Instagram who seem to have annoyingly perfect skin? Don’t fret – there’s an app for that πŸ˜‰ This app easily brightens and evens skin tone without looking to fake {if used for good!} and I’ve been itching to take a new selfie to test this out!
Any other apps you swear by? Please share with the class so all our Instagram snaps can be glamorous πŸ™‚ xx

I always love posts like these! Over the weekend a few girls introduced me to PicTapGo. I haven’t fully figured it out yet, but the options it offers are endless!

VSCOcam took the back burner once I discovered Afterlight, but maybe it's time to give it another shot?! I've heard great things about Snapseed, downloading today!

I use Afterlight, but I've never heard of the rest of these. Obviously I'm going to take your advice, because your photos are always so gorgeous!

Is it bad if I just downloaded all of these??? I had VSCOcam for a little bit now, but I have literally no idea how to use it. It's kind of sad that I'm pretty computer savvy but when it comes to using apps I have no idea what I'm doing

i just started using afterlight myself! i had vscocam but i didn't see much of a difference with it and the instagram filters. maybe i am missing something bc everyoen seems to love it!!

Never found the time to thank you for this round up! Even if I had all the apps on my iphone already, this post made me using them again!

Great apps, thanks for sharing:) I also use snapseed, vsco and afterlight on daily basis. Do you use any applications for overall account management? I personally adore fast-unfollow.com, iconosqure.com and postso.com over any others, they enhance the managing abilities so significantly i can’t imagine using Instagram without them!
