Good morning friends! I’m so excited to be partnering with my friends at Torani to share a sweet treat I’ve been loving this summer – the perfect Mango Lassi Recipe made with I’ve been a big fan of Torani for years (I love their syrups in my morning lattes and iced teas), so I was thrilled when they asked me to come up with a summer inspired recipe for their new Mangonada syrup.
I instantly knew that their newest flavored syrup would pair perfectly with a classic mango lassi recipe. If you haven’t tried a mango lassi, it’s a traditional Indian drink made with fresh mangos, yogurt and milk or coconut water that’s equally delicious as it is refreshing. I first discovered mango lassi’s when I was a little girl and my parents would take me to Indian restaurants back home in Madison, Wisconsin. And while I immediately loved Indian food, the mango lassi’s were always what made me want to go back again and again. It’s the perfect smooth blend of mango and yogurt, and it tastes like a mango milkshake, without being too unhealthy. A win for me, and a win for my parents too 😉
I love that Torani’s Mangonada syrup combines the taste of sweet mango with the perfect warm spice of chamoy – a Mexican condiment made with picked fruit and chili peppers which gives this recipe just the right amount of sweet, spice and a tart kick that’s so delicious. It’s the perfect kick to a traditional mango lassi recipe and adds the right amount of sweetness to the drink too! And best of all, Torani’s Puremade Mangonada syrup tastes amazing without any artificial flavors, no artificial preservatives, and it’s GMO free. Plus, the colors come from natural sources, so you can feel good about adding it to your favorite cold beverages! I love that one flavor can make endless recipes, which makes it easy to go through a bottle and impress your friends and family with every drink’s versatility!
Here’s my recipe for my summertime Mango Lassi, made with Torani PureMade Mangonada Syrup:
Directions:
Prepare all your ingredients together, cutting up your mango in a small bowl. Combine together the yogurt, mango and milk. Add a spoonful of Torani Mangonada syrup to your ingredients, top with a cup of ice and let blend until your lassi is creamy and evenly blended. I like to use my Vitamix I’ve had for years, but any industrial blender will do!
Once you have an even consistency, pour your lassi together in a glass and top with a few more sprinkles of Tajin® to add a little more spice to your lassi. I love that the Tajin® gives a nice balance to the sweetness of the mango, so I always add a few pinches!
If you really want to make your lassi a showstopper, I like to cut my mango in half and then make light cubes on the inside and flip it inside out, so the cubes pop out. I’ll usually lay it on top of the drink as a sweet treat once your lassi is finished, sprinkled with some more Tajin® for another burst of flavor. And ta-da! That’s it! It’s super simple, really delicious and the Torani Mangolada gives the lassi enough spicy and tangy flavors that your friends will be impressed and comment that it’s unlike any lassi they’ve ever had. I’ll be sure to make it for friends this summer – and maybe even spike it with a little rum to give it even more of a kick! I’d love to know if you end up making your own version in the comments below – and any suggestions you have to make your mango lassi even more delicious too! Xx
