The Perfect Leopard Sweater For the Holidays

Leopard Sweater (runs true to size!) // Leather Boots // Skinny High Waisted Jeans // Gucci Purse  // Leather Jacket (similar)

Remember when fall was around for like 3 weeks? Yeah…me neither 😉

Evidently this November has been the coldest on record in over 140 years (whaaaaatttt?) and it’s starting to feel like winter is here to stay. I miss the short but sweet time in Chicago before the snow came around and turned all the pretty leaves into sludge – but winter always comes at us with a bang every year!

I love this time of year though because it gives you the perfect excuse to slow down and give yourself a little TLC. I feel like the past few months (….or years?) things have been moving a mile a minute – mostly in a good way, but sometimes in a very overwhelming way too. Between work, life, blogging, trying to feel like a balanced person (what’s balance?!), it’s a little tough to feel like you’re firing on all cylinders. Colder days are the perfect excuse to embrace some JOMO (Joy Of Missing Out is so real once you’re over 30 – ha!), and cozy up with tea and a good book – or Netflix and 1/2 a bottle of wine, let’s be real.

I’ve been reading more books, hitting my Peleton more often than usual, attempting to cook more meals at home (I’m terrible, but hey – I’m trying!) and spend as much time with the people I love. I’ve been visiting my grandpa in the suburbs when I can on the weekdays, and it’s starting to sink in that none of us are getting any younger, so I’m savoring the little moments together and trying to present as much as humanly possible – always reminding myself that I’m never going to go through life wishing that I’d spent more time on my phone 😉     I’ve also been trying to get back in the swing of blogging after feeling like a bit of a blogging fail the past few months. I keep giving myself the excuse that there’s never enough time – but yet somehow I’m miraculously getting a reminder that I’ve spent an hour on Instagram today (HOW DOES THAT ALWAYS HAPPEN?!), so I’m pretty sure that excuse doesn’t actually fly. Here’s to working on making more holiday content in the next few weeks, and actually pulling together some gift guides that aren’t totally at the last second…we’ll see how that goes 😉

Anyways – let’s talk about this outfit shall we? I suppose this is a wannabe fashion blog after all.

My love for leopard has never been subtle, but it’s definitely exploded more this past year than ever before. I literally want leopard everything – from bathrobes, to shoes, to skirts and sweaters – I’m like a magpie to something sparkly, except I find myself uncontrollably gravitating to everything leopard all the time. I found this sweater at Anthropologie a few months back and decided I’d wait until it went on sale (as most things usually do there), only to be completely heartbroken that it was sold out after a few weeks. I finally found it on Shopbop when they were having a 20% off sale and it’s now one of my favorite sweaters in my closet for fall and winter. It’s super soft (in a silky way, if that makes sense?) and it’s thin enough to layer, but still warm enough to wear on it’s own. I love that it’s cute with a pair of jeans, or tucked into a black silk skirt or mini skirt. Plus it has these cute green cuffs which make it holiday-esque, or at least holiday enough in my book! Also, I’m legitimately obsessed with these Marc Fisher boots. They’re so magical that I buy a new pair every single year because I wear them nearly every day to work in the fall and winter when there isn’t snow in the ground. They’re the perfect pointy shape and they’re so comfortable I’ve walked miles and miles in them around Chicago, San Francisco and even Europe. 10/10 would recommend!

Alright, that’s enough fashion talk from me – hope everyone’s having a great week! I’m back from a quick trip to LA for work and couldn’t be more excited that I’ll be camped out back in Chicago until the end of the month. 2 weeks without travel seems like a crazy luxury with the craziness of the past few weeks! Hope you’re hunkering down and finding some joy in the colder weather too <3 xx
