Happy first day of October! I’m freaking out a little over here because it means that it’s Q4 for work (aye!) and we’re just a few short months from the holidays. As I get older, it feels like time has been speeding faster and faster, and I still can’t believe that September is already over.
I love that the changing of the seasons gives you a new perspective and this feeling of a fresh start. I’ve been trying to wake up earlier, be a little more positive (ehhhh….trying being the operative word), and trying to find ways to give myself a little TLC. And because fall is my favorite wardrobe season, I’ve been also feeling the need to give my closet a little upgrade with some new staples – many of which I’ve already pulled the trigger on (or am about to, heyyyyy!)
I’ve been saving up my credit card points for a bit, so I splurged on a gift card to Nordstrom to load up my cart with some fall favorites that I’ve been wanting for a long time – from a new pair of (much needed) jeans, and a suede jacket. Here are a few of my favorite fall staples if you’re in the market too!Shop the Post:
1. Leopard Sweater: I had been looking at this sweater at Anthropologie, and finally splurged on Shopbop when I had FOMO once it was sold out. It’s cozy and I love that it’s a neutral that instantly makes you feel a little more chic and put together.
2. Faux Leather Leggings: I have a few pairs in my closet, but I love this Spanx version with the ribbed version that are super cute with a sweater or moto jacket.
3. Suede Jacket: I’ve been eyeing BlankNYC’s jackets for awhile, and i love this suede version. My friend Jess had it shipped to her from Trunk Club, and when I tried it on it was magical. Seriously so well made, I went home and ordered one on the spot!
4. Rebecca Minkoff Slides: I love these little stud details on such a classic silhouette. I have a few pair of Rebecca Minkoff shoes that are so well made and last for many seasons.
5. Pave Bracelet: Love this affordable classic piece, and that it goes with everything layered or on it’s own.
6. Suede Skit: Every fall I tell myself I need to invest in a cute suede skirt, and before I know it, it’s winter and I’ve once again missed my window. This year, I bought this BlankNYC version and I’m so excited to pair it with a pair of over the knee boots and slouchy sweater.
7. Leopard Skirt: I bought a leopard skirt in the spring and I’ve worn it over and over throughout the year – it goes with everything from tank tops to chunky sweaters. I love this super affordable version that has the perfect silhouette!
8.Gucci Loafers: I’ve been dreaming of a pair of these Gucci loafers for years, and while I probably won’t pull the trigger this year, a girl can dream right?! They’ll always be on my fall wish list whether I can actually afford them or not 😉
9. Marc Fisher Blush Booties: Every year I try to buy myself one nice pair of booties, and these are currently at the top of my list! I always buy a pair of boots in black, but this year I’m tempted to buy a slightly more fun color like this blush!
10. Short Sleeved Cashmere Sweater: Last time I was in San Francisco, I stopped by their Everlane flagship store and tried on this super cozy short sleeved sweater. It’s perfect as a piece to transition from summer to fall, and I love this pretty mustard color paired with jeans or cozy leggings.
11. Madewell Classic Jean Jacket: I’ve been on the hunt for a flattering (non-boxy!) jean jacket for awhile now, and I tried this one on at Nordstrom Rack while shopping the other day. I’m planning to order one for fall/winter travel coming up in San Francisco and Portugal, but I’ve been told you need to size up to fit a light sweater under it!
Okay, that’s enough virtual shopping for one day, I’ll keep you posted on what I end up loving, and what I end up returning (because that’s always inevitable). And if you have any pieces this fall that you’re loving, please share with the class 😉 xx
