I’ve been meaning to write this post for a hot minute, and I’m FINALLY getting to it – better late than never, right? I’ve been meaning to share a few of my favorite makeup and skin care finds I’ve been testing out this month (and the past few months too) and which products I’m planning to buy over, and over and over again. Because honestly if I’m not planning to buy it again – it’s probably not worth your time precious hearing about it 😉
August is a time where people tend to feel like they’re stuck in a rut, and I’ve definitely been victim to feeling that way, especially since I have this looming feeling that summer’s slipping away. So to counteract my rut, I’ve been trying to mix up my routines – whether it’s taking the long way home from work, trying out new experiences, spending less time at home and more time with friends, or mixing up my skin care/beauty routines. I tried a bunch of new products throughout the month, and landed on a few favorites that I’ll definitely be buying over again. Alright, without further ado, here’s a few of the products I’m loving these days that I’m planning to keep using through fall and beyond.
1) Bare Minerals Original Powder: I used Bare Minerals back in high school (can you believe they were even around back then?!) and always loved their lightweight, long-lasting formula. I moved onto try a few other liquid and powder foundations over the years, but this month I came back to the original and remembered how much I loved it! I’ve been wearing their Fair/Ivory shade and it blends perfectly and lasts the day without getting to greasy – which is especially important in the summer. I’m planning to keep wearing it throughout the fall now too!
2) Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Foxy: If you’re like me and spend a lot of your time working, chances are you wake up every morning with some sleepy bags under your eyes. Besides hiding my tiredness with concealer, I’ve been adding Urban Decay’s eyeshadow in Foxy to the corners and right underneath my eyes to make it instantly look like I had a full nights sleep. I love that they sell the shades individually (rather than having to buy a full palette!), so you can use your favorite shades over and over again.
3) Agent Nateur Holi(stick) Deodorant: I’ve tried so many natural deodorants before – and there’s always been something wrong with them. Either they’re too dry, don’t last throughout the day, smell terrible or just plain don’t work. I had basically given up on natural deodorant, but made a last ditch effort to try Agent Nateur. And honestly, thank goodness I did because I love their all natural deodorant! It smells amazing, works like a charm, glides on easy and totally worth the $20 price tag. If you’ve had natural deodorant frustration in the past like I did, this one comes highly recommended.
4) Bare Minerals Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette: I love testing out palettes, but I don’t love when they’re too crazy big to carry around in your makeup bag or purse for a night out. I recently discovered that Bare Minerals makes an amazing eyeshadow palette in a variety of beautiful shades – and I’ve been wearing the “latte” palette non-stop (especially now that we’re getting into cooler, fall weather!)
5) Jouer Highlighter In Shimmery Peachy Gold: I’ve had a love/hate relationship with highlighters in the past, and had a hard time finding one that I loved that wasn’t globby or way too over the top. I ordered this Jouer shimmery peachy gold highlighter on a whim, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite beauty products in my makeup bag. It’s easy to apply, lasts throughout the day, and instantly makes it look like you put in a little extra effort for date night. I’ve been using it throughout the summer and am extra excited to try out another shade this fall!
6) Skinfix Calm and Regenerative Eye Cream: I’m a big advocate for eye cream, especially if your eyes tend to look on the sleepy side (aka, me!). While I haven’t found a magic potion to make my underage bags go away, Skinfix’s eye cream is insanely moisturizing and does quite a good job making my eyes less tired when I wake up in the morning. I’ve already used about a third of it, and I’m happily planning to purchase it again in a few months!
7) Indie Lee Skin Cleaning Mask: I’ve been a little more stressed than usual at work these days, and unfortunately my skin is starting to show it. Whenever I get stressed I tend to breakout, and Indie Lee’s skin clearing mask has helped me keep my breakouts at bay over the past few weeks. I’ve been using this mask every few days and have already seen a huge improvement to my skin! Plus, I love that Indie’s products are vegan, cruelty free and are made without harmful ingredients.
8) Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish and Pop blush: I know I’m the last one on the planet to fall in love with Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup line – but damn, is it good! I’ve loved every product I’ve tried so far, but I’m especially a fan of her luminous blush that’s creamy and made with crushed pearls to add extra shimmer to your checks. It blends super easily and I love that it lasts all day too. I’ve been using the Love Glow shade and it’s perfect for a day at work, or date night afterwards.
Alright – that’s enough of me talking about makeup for one day 😉 Any products you’ve loving these days? I’d love to add a few more beauty products to my arsenal to try out for September! xx
I need a new eye shadow palette like I need a hole in the head, but this one looks so pretty! I also like how small it is so it’s easier for travel. This is a great roundup of products, girl!
