Lace Top {similar here, and I love this one here and here for a work outfit} // J.Crew Blazer // Hudson jeans // Leopard Shoes // Tory Burch purse {similar here and here}
Happy Hump Day, amigos! Okay, so I cheated a little bit this workwear Wednesday because my outfit is a little business casual on the top and jeans on the bottom, but just maybe close your eyes and image that I actually have pointe pants on the bottom and the rest of the outfit works! To be honest, this was supposed to be a workwear post, but in my blondeness I accidentally forgot to bring my work pants, and here we are. So if you can suspend your disbelief, let’s pretend I totally #nailedit this workwear Wednesday 😉 For today’s workwear look, I pulled out my favorite J.Crew blazer that I wear on (almost) a daily basis, with this fun lace top I bought over Christmas at Anthropolgie. I love the classic tuxedo look, paired with mixed metals like this Rustic Cuff bracelet I picked up for New Years. Paired with jeans for a casual day (or pointe pants for the office), and these leopard flats, it’s the perfect neutral look that’s both polished and professional. While I definitely don’t usually rock this look with jeans, it also works for a more dressed up look on the weekend too (you know, in case you have fancy friends or something…) Speaking of work, I’ve been trying to make the concerted effort to find more balance when it comes to work and life these days. The past few months I’d been feeling exhausted and a little more burned out than usual, so I took a step back and decided that I really needed to put some clear guardrails up to give myself a little more balance in my life. So I’m trying to leave at the end of the day whenever I can (trying to say no to consecutive late nights in the burbs Monday through Friday!), and asking for more help when I need it. It’s honestly hard for me, but I’ve been needing to invest more time into my relationships rather than work, so I’m hoping it makes a much needed difference in my life. I’ll make sure report back on how it goes in the coming weeks. Have you ever had to draw a line at work to get a little more balance in your life? I’d love any rules or changes you’ve made in your work life to make your personal life a little more successful. Any tips or help would be much appreciated! xx
I love this Workwear Wednesday series!! For work life balance… that’s a hard one. Personally, I get to work 30 mins before everyone to get settled and get to right away and I leave right at 5. I ALWAYS take my full lunch hour, it’s sooooo important to step away from your computer and get the break. I find I work harder then I’m at my desk if I take the break. The last thing I do to help my balance is don’t have work email on my personal phone, it my be different for you since you work in Social…but shut it off whenever you can!! Good luck girl and see you Saturday!!
xo, Sarah
