Off To Napa!

For those who know me well, they know that I love wine. All kinds of wine – except just maybe white and rosé (I’m not quite sophisticated enough for red yet!)

…Anyways, I’m so excited that tomorrow morning I leave for Napa with two of my favorite girlfriends from work to celebrate a long weekend drinking wine and soaking up some sunshine – hallelujah!

I’ve been craving a girls trip for awhile now, and on a whim one late night in the office, my co-workers and I decided that we needed a much deserved vacation. And within a few days, we all bought our plane tickets, coordinated a place to stay (my co-workers uncle just happens to have a home in Napa!) and organized an amazing itinerary of places to see and wineries to drink at. I couldn’t be more excited.

I’m not sure what role you typically take when it comes to trip planning – but I’m usually the friends who’s “down for anything” and isn’t a super helpful in the planning process. Luckily my wonderful, amazing, type-A friends planned the whole trip, knowing I’d happily be along for the ride. They even made a color corded excel sheet that’s broken out day by day because they’re just that organized/magical. As someone who has to plan things at work – I’m not super great at planning anything that has to do with my real life – so I’m especially thankful for planners in my life when it comes to trips 😉

We have a jam packed agenda, but highlights include Round Pond, Robert Craig, Grgich, and Paraduxx winery – and then Bottega, Buchon bakery, Auberge du Soleil and a few other yummy spots for dinner and lunch. Have any suggestions of other places we should go? We’re there Thursday – Sunday morning and are always open to any suggestions!I’m excited to have a few much-needed days to relax with friends and get away from Chicago for a long weekend. There’s nothing better than a girls weekend, and it’s been far too long since I’ve been on one – work/life has just been too busy, but it’s so important to carve out some quality time with friends. I can’t wait to share some of the highlights on Instagram and on the blog in the coming days! See you soon, California! xx
