Good morning, friends! I’m sure you’re all aware by now that I’m not a huge fan of mornings (especially those early morning wake up calls Monday – Friday…). And it’s not only because I feel tired and need an IV of coffee in the morning, but also because I look tired.
Truth is, I’ve always looked tired – even since I was a teeny tiny kid. I was the one kid in circle time in kindergarten who looked like she only slept 3 hours, after a 12-hour night’s sleep (I’ve always been a BIG fan of sleeping). I’ve always had hereditary dark circles, and through the years it hasn’t really gotten better, but I’ve found slightly better ways to attempt to cover them up with creams, concealers, illuminators, the whole nine yards. But these days, I’ve been pairing my already dark circles with late nights, early mornings and a whole lot of screen time with my day job. The last few months have been pretty crazy launching a few big campaigns, onboarding new team members, and trying to keep everything afloat – so my usual 8-10 hours of sleep has dwindled to about 5-6 hours each night. And while that’s probably enough sleep for most people my age, it’s sure doing quite a doozy on my under-eye circles. I’ve gotten quite a few, “you look tired” comments at work (because honestly, they’re right – I DO look tried!)
So, besides ordering a ton of concealer and trying to get as much sleep as possible, I’ve moved on from my typical skincare routine of lotions and serums to add an eye cream to the mix. I recently partnered with Olay to try their new Brightening Eye Cream, available at CVS. I always read the reviews online before buying any skincare products – and I was pleased to see that so many people had positive results after just a few weeks – so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try! I’ve been using it for a few weeks, and I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my under-eye circles. My eyes look brighter, are immediately glowy after using, and help smooth fine lines (which for me, are made worse by years of touching my under-eye area with concealers). Since the area under your eye is more delicate than the rest of your skin, skipping your fruits and veggies, missing sleep, and lots of computer screen time are super noticeable there than any other place on your body. And while I can’t claim my under-eye circles are gone forever (they never will be, and that’s OK), I have noticed a noticeable difference since using Olay Eyes Brightening Eye Cream– and I’ll take that as a WIN!And, since I don’t think life is going to slow down any soon – do you have any tips or tricks in how to keep yourself looking well-rested and mostly sane? Whether it’s an eye cream, jade rolling, or anything else you love – and tips would be much appreciated as we get into the holiday season in a few short weeks! Xx
