My Favorite Leopard Coat

Leopard Jacket (almost exact here, and other options here and here) // Skinny Jeans (obsessed with these new Madewell ones with Tencel for stretch!) // Shoes (my favorites for fall!) // Purse // Sweater (similar)

After a whirlwind couple of weeks, it was finally nice to just stay in Chicago for the weekend last week. It was nice to just stay put for a few days, and attempt to really not do too much of anything. I attempted to catch up on emails, grabbed coffee with friends I hadn’t seen for awhile, went to dinner at Club Lucky (one of my favorite Chicago spots), cleaned my apartment, and just hung out to try to relax and recharge.

I also started watching “This is Us” and watched wayyyyyy too many episodes in two days. I had heard so many good things about the show, but wasn’t quite ready to be totally emotionally destroyed by it (everyone always talked about sobbing after every episode, and I wasn’t emotionally ready for that life!). But it turns out that A) it’s just as good as everyone said (and yes, totally recognize that I live under a rock for waiting so long), and B) it didn’t emotionally traumatize me quite as much as I anticipated. Do you watch the show? Can you get through an episode without crying? I’m 23 episodes in and have yet to shed a tear (maybe I have a stone cold heart?), but I have a feeling there’s going to be a lot of death and emotional destruction soon….Okay, anyways- besides watching “This Is Us” for way too much of my weekend, I also spent the weekend walking around the neighborhood and being blown away by all the beautiful fall leaves. Living in Lincoln Park, people go out for Halloween, and the decorations paired with the pretty leaves made for quite the pairing for fall. While it pains me that colder days are right around the corner (and I’m once again *seriously* debating buying a Canada Goose jacket because I just KNOW this winter is going to be brutal), I’m trying to soak in the beautiful colors, the crisp air, and the fact that some days it’s mostly just sweatshirt weather vs. full on parka. Chicago, please don’t change…or most importantly, please don’t get any colder. Please pretty please! At least when I do have to wear a jacket, I have this pretty leopard jacket to keep me warm…ish 😉 I’m going to keep this post short and sweet, because I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow and it’s already 11PM (eeeek!). I’m trying to power through the next week and a half to enjoy some much needed vacation days in Laguna Beach to soak up some sun before the inevitable winter arrives in Chicago. Plus, I still haven’t used any vacation days yet this year (not good, I know…) so I was definitely due for a few days to sleep in and take a break from my inbox. If you have any Laguna Beach tips (because I just know it from the TV show in the early 2000’s – ha!) please send any and all suggestions my way!) xx
