I’ve always loved entertaining friends and loved ones, and there’s nothing I adore more than having my favorite girlfriends over on the patio in the summer when it’s finally beautiful out in Chicago. Problem is that with my schedule – the reality of my entertaining usually involves me running frantically to pick up groceries after work, getting home with 10 minutes to spare, and then frantically trying to get my place in order before friends arrive (because lets be real, it’s usually a mess!). All that rushing leaves about t-minus -15 minutes to spare for whipping up the perfect cocktail and getting dinner in order, whoops!
Luckily, I’ve finally started to make a list of quick, crowd-pleasing cocktails that are easy but pretty enough to impress my friends – my new favorite being this tasty White Sangria made with 7UP! I love using 7UP in the kitchen because it’s so versatile – it’s perfect for baking and cooking, mocktails and cocktails, and of course, it’s always good on it’s own too! In the summer, I’ve been loving anything with bold, beautiful colors always is Instagram-worthy, and it tastes perfectly fresh and sweet for summer, without going overboard. Plus, did I mention it was easy?! Just slice up some fruit, mix in some tasty wine and juice and then muddle for an instantly delicious Sangria – no waiting required! Encouraged, but not required if you don’t have time 😉
Here’s my easy recipe for White Sangria made with 7UP!
What You’ll Need:
- A bottle of chilled, dry white wine (I used Sauvignon Blanc because it’s personally my favorite, but any other dry white will do!)
- 2 cups white Apple Juice
- A variety of fresh sliced fruits. I used 2 peaches, 1 orange, and a handful of blueberries
- A handful of raspberries, muddled
- A few sprigs of mint leaves
- 1-2 cans of 7.5 oz 7UP to top off your drink!
Directions:
- Grab a pitcher and add your raspberries and mint to muddle at the bottom
- Add 3-4 handfuls of ice
- Add your slices of peaches, oranges, and blueberries
- Pour 2 cups of apple juice into the fruit and ice
- Pour the full bottle of wine into the pitcher
- Top with 1-2 cans of 7UP to add a little sweetness and fizziness to your drink! I usually opt for 1 can, but add another if you like a sangria on the sweeter side
Note: If you have time to let the flavors meld even more, let your sangria sit (made without ice) in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Add ice after to make sure your sangria stays chilled outdoors or for a longer party. It’s seriously so easy – and how pretty is that glass of sangria to boot? If you’re looking for more ways to make cocktails even easier (yes please!), 7UP has you covered with their new 7UP Digital Bartender section of their website on your mobile device! It helps you measure a perfect cocktail without any bartending tools needed. You literally just put your phone next to your cocktail glass and then the website automatically adjusts the proportions you should be pouring so you don’t have to guess how much you need to add to different sized glasses. Pretty genius, right? If you think that’s pure magic – don’t worry, it’s real! You can see their demonstration video right here for proof.
Alright, now I’m ready to invite my girlfriends over again to whip up this tasty White Sangria made with 7UP again this weekend! Speaking of, any fun plans? Whether you’re hanging out with friends or having a solo night in, please let me know if you make this recipe and your thoughts! I always love hearing what additions or updates you’ve made to my favorite recipes!
