Happy Monday, friends! How was everyone’s weekend?
While I usually try to have my weekends be a mix of work and fun, I decided to take the weekend off and enjoy some fun and R&R with friends. Friday night we grabbed ramen at Furious Spoon and watched the NBA playoffs (Bucks vs. Celtics!), Saturday we had a game night with friends where we played at least 7 games of Code Names, and Sunday was spent driving up to Milwaukee to watch the Bucks vs Celtics Game 4 in person. Tom is a big Bucks fan, and I’d never been to a game in Milwaukee, so it was fun watching the nail biter of a game live. Afterwards we met up with a few friends who were in town (including one of my best friends from high school, Kate, who was road tripping from Oregon!) and enjoyed a few drinks before heading back to Chicago. It was nice to get away from the city for a little bit and enjoy a quick road trip – sometimes you just need a little break from the hustle and bustle of the city 🙂
I’m going to keep today’s post short and sweet because I’ve got a long to-do list before heading out for some trips in the coming days! I’ll share more on that soon, but in the meantime I wanted to let you know about Sephora’s Spring Bonus sale, which ends today! I’ve gotten to the point where I know what makeup and skincare products I love, so I buy my favorite products on repeat (adding in a new product here or there to try for the first time). I never want to share products I don’t 100% believe in, so the above are some of the products that are tried and true (and what I’ll always be reordering until a new product comes along that I love more!).
For my skincare: I’m obsessed with all things Tata Harper, and since her products rarely go on sale, I’m planning to pick up a few of my favorites today before the sale’s over! I love her Illuminating Moisturizer for the mornings before I put my makeup on, and her Illuminating Eye Creme to add an instant lift to my tired eyes. They smell so good and both have flecks of diamond dust, which add a beautiful and natural shine.
For Under Eye circles: I put on a layer of Trish McEvoy Jumbo Instant Eye Lift in shade #1 (ok, this is the only product you can’t get at Sephora, but it’s so good and part of my daily routine that I needed to include it!) in a upside down triangle and dab it in. On top, I put on Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Creme BrĂ»lĂ©e and it instantly makes me look like I got a good nights sleep (or that I don’t naturally have under-eye circles ;)). I use a little extra as concealer around my nose and chin too, since those spots always tend to be a little redder than the rest of my face.
For my base: I pop on Nars Radiant Longwear Foundation and use a Nars setting powder. I’ll then pop on a little Nars Bronzer (in the classic Laguna) and blush (in Orgasm), which I buy separately but you can also buy in a duo version.
For my eyes: I use Laura Mercier eyeliner in brown copper, which I love because it glides on easy and lasts all day. I’ll then add Laura’s Extra Lash Sculpting Mascara, which adds way more oomph to my lashes than any of the other mascaras I’ve used in the past!
And that’s usually it! Sometimes I’ll add either RMS Beauty’s Living Luminizer (a dewy highlighter) or Nars’ amazing powder highlighter for a little extra shine.
