Life Lately v. 3

Oh hey, Monday, I can’t believe the weekend is over and we’re already kicking off another busy week. I’ve been a little quiet over here, so I thought it would be nice to play a quick game of catch up, and recap a few of my favorite things lately, including a few favorite blog posts from my online tribe, recent adventures around Chicago, favorite new restaurants and all that jazz. Let’s share a few faves, shall we?

Not to play favorites, but I recently tried out Duck Duck Goat’s bunch and basically had one of the best brunches I’ve ever had in the city. I’ve been a big fan of Dim Sum for years, and Duck Duck Goat (created by renowned chef Stephanie Izard of Top Chef fame) recently came out with their Sunday brunch that is so incredibly good. I’m still dreaming about it over a week later… All of the dishes we had were delicious, but the BBQ Pork Buns, scallion pancakes, green beans and soup dumplings we’re a few of the highlights. Also not to be missed was the shaved cherry sorbet with fresh berries and cherries, covered with sweet rice crispies, and carmelized condensed milk, which I think may be the best desert I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve literally had dreams about it, and every time I think about it, it makes my mouth water. I’ll definitely be making my way back very soon 🙂 This past weekend I made my way to Kansas City with my friends Lauren, Kit and Christina for a trip with Visit KC for a jam packed weekend full of all the best the city has to offer. I’m planning to share some more posts with some of the best highlights soon, but in the meantime I shared a few snaps on my Instagram from some of the prettiest places we visited, including Monarch Coffee, Ca Va {the cutest champagne bar!} and T.Loft for a healthy lunch with the best smoothies and protein balls – mmmm…..

I’m so excited to share a few posts in the coming weeks, but in the meantime if you’re looking to experience some KC in Chicago, the Visit KC team is hosting an event on Wednesday at Underground with a few bites and cocktails from some of the amazing restaurants we visited. If you’re looking to see some of the amazing things Kansas has to offer, check out all the details here, I’ll be there with a cocktail in hand!

And last but not least, a few weeks back I went to L.A. for a few work projects, which included working on an event featuring a few of my favorite food influencers. I was working on real-time content and Instagram stories most of the night, but I did have the fortune of of enjoying a few dishes and snapping some pictures of the most gorgeous set up. Who knew that adding oranges to a floral centerpiece could be so darn pretty? Now if only I had a pretty outdoor space {and any skills in the kitchen…} I could try to recreate it myself 😉  Alright, that’s all from me today, but hopefully you had a fun weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead too! This week is going to be a busy one, but I’m excited to have some R&R at home after work, catch up with friends, and head over to the Kansas City event on Wednesday. I’d love to see you there if you happen to be free too! xx
