Adding Summer Volume To Your Hair

Good morning, friends! It’s been awhile since I’ve made an appearance on my little corner of the internet. Truth be told, I’ve been having a bit of a hard time, and after a long day at work I’ve been too tired to get too caught up in the blogging world. I’ve definitely been missing it though, so hopefully I’ll be back in action pretty soon once I’m a little more acclimated to my new job 😉

In other news, this summer weather is so lovely, but it’s really been doing a number to my hair with the hear and humidity. My hairs been thinning recently too (I’m assuming due to some stressful life changes lately), so I got a major chop for summer to give it a little more body. To add a little more oomph,  I’ve been loading up on professional hair care products that add a ton of natural looking volume without looking too over-the-top. Since it’s so hot these days {and I’m trying to keep my hair as healthy as possible!} I’ve been gravitating towards all products that are heat free.

Out of all my favorite volumizing products, I’ve been loving the salon products from Hair Cuttery the most this season. I’ve been fortunate to be working with them for the past year, and every time I check out their product line, I’m more and more obsessed with how well they work. If you’re looking for a few products to give you more va-voom this summer, here are a few of my heat-free faves!Step 1: Start with Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioners

The basis for any voluminous style starts with some killer volumizing shampoo and conditioner. I’ve tried so many volumizing products {from drugstore buys to expensive splurges}, but by far my favorite is Redkin’s High Rise Volume shampoo and conditioner, which I started using a few weeks back after getting my hair done at Hair Cuttery. I’ve seen a visible improvement AND the products smell insanely good. It makes washing my hair a little bit more enjoyable, especially when I know that my hair is going to be fabulous by the time it air dries.Step 2: Add a Volumizing Spray

Before letting my hair air dry {no heat styling for this gal!}, I spray in some of Matrix’s High Amplify Wonder Boost to help lift my roots for natural volume and lightweight body. I love that it has a flexible hold and gives me the lift I need without using a hairdryer and flipping my head upside down every morning 😉 Step 3: Finish Off With A Volumizing Dry Shampoo:

I’m pretty sure dry shampoo is a hair-care gift from god, because honestly, it’s completely changed my hair game – especially when you add volumizer to the mix. Adding a little texture on days where my hair looks extra flat {or even after washing it to give it more oomph}. I love Hair Cuttery’s Cibu hair line, and their dry shampoo has quickly become my favorite {even compared to their other, more expensive dry shampoo sprays!} I may or may not keep one in my bathroom and one in my car to get myself looking put together for date nights or drinks after work. Okay, I totally do…a girl can’t have too much dry shampoo though, right?! Do you have any volumizing hair products you adore? I would love to know your faves to add them to my list!

In other news, I am completely jealous if you happen to have the day off today! I’m headed to work this morning, but I at least had an epic weekend camping in Wisconsin, which included trips to New Glarus Brewing, floating down the river, and hanging out with friends over a giant bonfire. I’m also looking forward to taking off tomorrow to just enjoy some R&R –  I’ve definitely been needing to give myself a little break lately. xx
