Tied in a Bow

Bow Shirt // Hudson Jeans {scored for a steal at Marshalls!} // Lace Up Flats {and these too!} // Tory Burch Purse {sold out, but I love this one and this one!}

Ugh, Monday. It’s you again. I feel like you were just here {deja vu!}, and here we go again. Sign me up for coffee, a swift kick in the pants to get me to work, and maybe a few extra hours of sleep – pretty please! I’m sure you feel the same way this morning too – having a case of the Monday’s is very real, my friends.

As I said so many times last week, I’ve been working at waking up earlier each morning to welcome the day…which has made mornings a little easier, but nights a little more difficult. Both Tom and I work {a lot}, so the times where we get to see each other during the week usually include a late dinner, sneaking in an episode of the latest TV show we’ve been binge watching, and then falling asleep a little later than we both hoped for. I know, I know – we’re pretty exciting aren’t we?!

Because we sometimes feel a little bit like ships in the night during the week – we’ve been trying to spend more time together on the weekends, making plans, going out to dinner, and trying to soak up more of the beautiful days we’ve been getting in Chicago. This weekend included trying out a new authentic Mexican restaurant for Cinco de Mayo {and pumping myself up to stay awake for the 9PM reservation!}, stopping by a new coffee shop in Tom’s neighborhood and walking along the 606 to get some exercise while catching up. It was magical, and the perfect way to kick off the week…without staying up too late 😉 For date night on Friday, I wore this new bow top I had been coveting from Club Monaco for a few weeks. It’s the perfect flirty top for drinks with friends, date night or even for a casual-ish day in the office. I’ve been living for one shoulder tops these days, and this bow version is so perfect for warmer spring and summer days. I’m pretty sure I have a problem when it comes to Club Monaco {why is everything SO darn cute?!}, and while I’ve been attempting to spend less money, I couldn’t help but bring this cute top home with me. The fact that it’s perfect with a skinny pair of jeans {my fave!} is really icing on the cake 🙂 Anyways – enough about me! How was your weekend, friends?! Hopefully you celebrated the weekend with friends, family and a few cocktails along the way too! xx
