I know I’m a little over enthusiastic over here, but the fact that it’s spring is making me THE happiest girl in Chicago. Spring is the perfect time to feel refreshed, and I’ve been doing werk when it comes to regrounding myself for the season.

This past weekend, my family came to town and we did a little {okay…a lot} of spring cleaning around my apartment to make it feel fresh for the new season. I tackled my epic home-improvements to-do list, cleaned my closet, washed all the clothes in my overflowing laundry bins, and actually filled my fridge with food since I hadn’t been shopping in probably over a month. Life gets crazy sometimes, so it’s nice when you feel caught up and ready for the new season ahead.

In the spirit of a spring refresh, I finally got to giving myself {and my hair} a little spring makeover with my friends at Hair Cuttery a few weeks back. I was in desperate need of highlights {it had been many, many months}, and my hair stylist Po totally hooked me up with beautiful new highlights for the warmer weather ahead. Usually I try to go for a darker blonde, but since it’s finally warmer out, I went full blonde highlights to lighten up my look for spring – and I’m pretty excited about the new change! Now that’s a serious before and after, right?! Since my hair stylist has basically become a friend, Po recommended that I try out some of Hair Cuttery’s Redken products since I was in need of a few more goodies to my hair care arsenal. I’ve always loved Redken {I mean, the smell alone…mmm!}, and it was nice to hear Po’s recommendations for what I should try to heal my dry and limp hair.

Winter really did a number to my blonde locks, so I opted for products that reduced frizz and deeply conditioned my hair – including their Extreme Mega Mask {I’m obsessed!}, No Blow Dry NBD styling cream and their Extreme Shampoo and conditioners for adding shine and strength to my stringy locks. So far all the products I’ve tried have completely transformed my hair for spring, and I’ve seen a ton of added volume and shine come back to my hair in just a few weeks of using them. For the most part, I’m lucky that my hair stays pretty consistent day after day – but humid days wreck havoc to my hair in a frizzy {and not very cute} way. Whenever I leave the house for work, I usually have wet hair since I’m running out the door, so I’ve been packing Redken’s Frizz Dismiss Smooth Force spray in my work bag when I can tell that the weather’s going to cause my hair to go crazy.
