Let me just preface this post by fully admitting how ridiculous I am, because I’m basically writing a love letter to a pink coat. I know, it’s crazy – but sometimes you fall in love with a coat when it’s not on sale, and then three months later you serendipitously find your size in the back of the sale section at J.Crew and you’re embarrassed just how excited it makes you. But in my defense, getting a jacket you’ve been dreaming of for 75% off will really leave you on a shoppers high for days to come, which is why I’m feeling oh-so-compelled to write about how much I love this jacket 😉

But really, I have a problem when it comes to pink coats. I’ve been all about quality over quantity lately, but somehow I talked myself into taking this tweed jacket home to live in the closet with my two other dressy pink coats. I know, I know – it’s not healthy – but I’d been coveting this jacket for months, waiting for it to go on sale online before it mysteriously sold out after the holidays. Heart. Broken.   So finding this beauty on it’s lonesome in the back of the Michigan Avenue J.Crew was like I had won the shopping lottery. There’s a weird thrill finding the perfect piece for a steal can give you, and I was on a full shoppers high as I tried it on and confessed my love for the silly gold buttons and impractical deep cut collar for a Midwest winter. I’m not proud of myself, but it immediately made it in my short list of pieces to take home with me, and I’ve been wearing it on repeat ever since – even during the 15 degree days in Chicago. If it’s wrong to be irrationally in love with a bright pink coat, than I don’t want to be right. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s ever felt this way, right? There’s a weird high in finding something you’ve been coveting for a fraction of the price, which is why you can’t help but keep tabs on, hoping that it goes on sale. And while I’ve been working to scale down my closet, sometimes there’s a certain piece that catches my eye and I know it has to come home with me, even if that means replacing it with something else I’d loved before. Whether it’s the pair of shoes you’ve been lusting over or your own J.Crew coat equivalent, sometimes you just have to treat yourself to an epic, ridiculously good deal 😉 In other news, we survived hump day!!! It’s been quite a long week at work and beyond, so I’m just soaking up the little things in life – like making it halfway through another work week 🙂 Hopefully you’re finding some time to enjoy the little things and some much needed R&R! xx
