How can it already be Christmas week already? I feel like I closed my eyes from Thanksgiving until now, and I’m just realizing that Christmas is on SATURDAY – what?! The last few days have been filled of cramming as many meetings into my work schedule as possible {my head’s about to explode}, panic-buying gifts online and paying way too much in shipping to get gifts on time, and trying to fill as many holiday festivities into my schedule before I officially miss the boat. It’s been a little hectic over here, and I’m very ready to head home for the holidays on Thursday to spend some much needed time with the family. Only 2 more days to go!The next few days are filled with holiday parties galore, so I recently picked up this pretty velvet dress at Anthropologie in anticipation of the festivities. I try to let myself splurge on a holiday dress each year, and my favorite trend of the season was anything and everything velvet. I fell in love love with this dress while eyeing the racks of Anthro, and the fact that it was the perfect festive green and long sleeves really sealed the deal. Paired with sweater tights and heels, I’m ready for all the festive get togethers and dinners, without looking too much like a Christmas elf. It’s a fine line, so finding something chic and not overly red and green can always be a challenge!Any fun holiday parties and festivities you’re looking forward to in the coming days? I’m excited to take a week long break from work and spend some time catching up on life {including working on a few blog posts!}, watching too much TV, exploring the winter wonderland of Madison, Wisconsin and spending time with family and friends. The holidays are extra nice this year because I get to spend time with my boyfriend Tom and his family too, which isn’t always possible when you’re dating and attempting to go to all the Christmas events you can squeeze in. Since Tom grew up 3 blocks from where I did in Madison {no joke, I didn’t even know he existed until this year!}, it’s even easier to spend time with him and his sweet family during the holidays {no crazy drives or plane rides required!} I’m planning on taking signing off before Christmas so I can really unplug and enjoy time with family and friends. I’ll be back next week, but in the meantime, I hope you have the happiest of holidays with your loved ones! Unplug, un-wine-d, and celebrate with too many cookies, cocktails and celebrations – you deserve it! xx
First of all, you look gorgeous! This velvet dress is so fun and perfect for holiday parties. And, I hope you have a nice trip home to Madison! If the snow is anything like it is here in Fond du Lac, then you’re in for a treat. 🙂 Happy Holidays!
Oh la la! Loving the velvet and that cool is beautiful on you! Merry Christmas sista!
